i zone people out when they tell me their dietary preferences - usually because i think they are idiots
I think it's strange some people seem to find it more important to conform to the rules of 'true vegetarianism' than to their own principles. "I like fish, it's healthy and doesn't makes me fat but I don't eat it because you're not supposed to as a vegetarian". Who cares if you do not fully comply to the definition of a vegetarian when you eat fish (or even chicken!)? It's not (supposed to be) a fucking religion! In the end it's about what you want and/or care about, not what you can righteously call yourself.
Because theres a more accurate term for eating fish you chode. It's the thread title. Some people don't want to sound like morons.
It's not about the fish, it's about all the silly nitpicking who's a vegetarian or pescetarian or not. To me the definitions are very clear, I just wouldn't call myself like that because I chose to eat no meat anymore and then gave in to a craving for chicken and get all sad because I did something a real vegetarian is not supposed to do. It's no big deal if you eat chicken, cow or fish once in awhile when you're not supposed to because you chose to be a non meateater. Only if you make it a big deal yourself of course because you're not suppooosed to because you're a vegetarian!! Ahh the horror! I wouldn't even want to call myself a vegetarian anymore because of all those annoying crybabies! I would just say I eat almost no meat
I had people in college tell me "Oh, Im a vegetarian too. The only thing is that I eat chicken". "So you're not a vegetarian" I would say, they insisted that they were
I hate when people ask me that. It's just a choice of what I eat, a preference. I hate having to explain myself everytime Im going to eat. I dont ask people "hey, so why do you eat meat?". People always try to convince me that I can eat fish or chicken too. I say ok, but I dont want to
