You would think that being cold blooded he would have better things to do than pester swimmers/waders!
They swim away if you come near them. I came in from behind to get the picture. It definitely knew I was there as it turned towards me. It's a none venomous snake.

thanks it was the first and only time I've ever been that close to one w/o it flying off. We stood there about 10 feet apart staring at each other for almost an hour.
That's awesome! It's always a strange encounter when having a staring contest with a wild animal. Both don't know what each other is going to do.
