I think she meant contiguous and nevada, we have legal hookers, most of our taxes come from casinoes, most of our politicians used to own casinoes (you will not have an elevtion without at least one casino owner involved) we have nellis afb which used to be a nuclear testing range, worlds 4th largest producer of gold and we are a desert but we have one of the worlds largest dams (if you took all the concrete in the boulder\hoover dam you could build a hiway from new york to california)
Louisiana. It has to my knowlegde largely been untainted by a Starbucks' in every corner. They dance to the tune of their own fiddle, and you can like it or lump it, they don't really care.
yeah, they may have meant contiguous but they SAID continental, so as far as the continental us goes environmentally, i'd say alaska is most unique. however if you're looking at it politically, it is definitely louisiana. for one they are the only state where you dont have counties, you have parishes. also, i dont know HOW accurate this is but we were taught it in my highschool law class that because louisiana is so old and was settled by the french its initial laws were based on the french system. because of this, there isn't the norm of "innocent until proven guilty." rather, the burden of proof lays on the defense rather than the prosecution. your fate depends on your ability to prove you DIDNT do something rather than someone elses ability to prove you DID. this system isn't specifically banned by the constitution as far as i know, and since this is the way it always had been it remained this way when louisiana became part of the union. self-government, you know, had more meaning back then. states rights and such....
okay i meant main land u.s.- connected. and the reasons that therefor gave are why i picked texas as my choice....
