I know... trust me I learned the error of my ways!
For some reason I thought I need to keep the roots tight or they'd just grow out. It never mad snese to me that the roots would just dread on their own still doesn't really....but nowI believe....

I have my bad days...but mostly..I love my dreadies... especially when my son plays with them and talks about the colors in the wraps... :)

and trust me...even if I did do everything the wrong way, high maintenance dreads are still less maintenance than my old hair.... yuck!

did you missd the piont entirely?
therews nothing wrong with people who wasnt liberty soijkes abd go for that look
this threasds for people who want dreads so its safe to assume thjart yes everyone posting here wants dreads
but when they wax up backcombed hair and make it more like libertyspikeds all gunked up and glued togerther theyre not accomplishing what they set out to do ..

i dont think you paid any attebtion to what i wasd saying you only picked at 1 lil peiice of it and took it out of context

do i care idf peoplew who want libertyspikes want them? no..i think it looks silly personaly but thats theyre hair they can wear it how they want ity
but if they want dreads and end up with liberrty spikes instead odviosly they took a wrong turn

    that should be odvios

I really dont want to say anything positive about wax...but isnt it a little obvious that all the anti-wax pics there is like an ungodly amount of wax??? Is there anyone who used wax that used it as recommended..that would be more useful maybe????

Nope...I did the whole KB kit deal. Then came the obsessing...trying to find every bit of info I could...your blog has been inspiring really, and the only one that kept up with all the steps and experimenting. I actually waited to see your bleach out-come before I bleached mine. It was most helpful!

I think it would be fasinating to find a few willing heads to do a case study on different methods. Like begin at the same time and keep a time line.

Or just one willing participant to start all their dreadlocks using different methods plus a patch of "neglected" hair.

i think mandy has done backcombing twist n rip and alotta neglect

one of my closest freinds spent 2 weeks trying to find someone to backcomb hers, she asked everyone with dreads, finaly shed found someone but they hadnt gotten around to it yet.. one day she went to the streem to wash her hair when she came back she told me shes going to go try to find that guy to backcomb her hair.. i took her hand put it in her hair (we were 100 miles from the nearest mirror) and just said why you already have dreads..and she did, not a full head full yet just 6 or 8 tight lil babbies and a fwew more getting ready to dreadf but they akl formed in the time it took her to fiond someone to backcomb
i always say the quickest way to get dreads is spend a few weeks or a month in the woods (or at the beach) and just stop thinking about it

yah, that would be a fun way to get dreads.but I have a 5month old so couldn't leg it off for a few weeks. I'm happy I rip&twisted. I did it lightly though and wouldn't change it:)

yep I did do all methods! AS a result my head is at all different stages of development and looks rather funky...boo. I feel in a slump right now with my dreadies. Theyre so damn short!!!!!! I cant do anything fun with them! Yet theyre so nappy looking down I cant wear them down for work...so Im stuck wearing my hair back in a ponytail every flippin day! Its annoying.
