i just got to Alice's part, and at least at the beginning it is very interesting to read. she has this unique thing happen before she falls asleep, and the way she describes her first (mescaline) trip is beautiful

Yep, pretty awesome books to say the least. I wonder if you guys know he will probably be died before the second part is done? Or may bee not... I hope not. One way to make sure most if not all of it is ready to go is to make sure they have the money to do it.

    http://www.erowid.org/donations/project_shulgin.php

I recommend you not spending the money on that next dose and donating it instead. If it wasn't for him a lot of this stuff wouldn't be around. I have already donated to erowid a good amount, which I am sure most of you haven't done that either :( You read his stuff and erowids a lot? Donate sun.

for $40 bucks it's worth it to have hard copies. and i feel like i did my part in "supporting the cause"

Only downloadable copies I've found do not contain the personal stories.

Also, I would rather support the cause than download in this case

well i personally didn't give to erowid. i gave to someone selling new copies of the books, for which the author presumably gets some royalty

I love Alice's part. Makes me feel better about still wanting to trip when I'm like 60, haha...

    +1

I hope you all clicked on the link. It wasn't for erowid, it was for the shulgins and their new book. I was just chastising for not donating to erowid either :p

    Donate MEOW

EDIT Buying their book helps with the demand of the product, so even if royalty isn't accrued, the printing company will have to make more. Good job pork for supporting the information (not cause...)

There were many older trippers at the MAPS conference, including the Shulgins. Wonderful to see.

Yes, I went. I posted about it (probably too lengthy a post) in general psyche forum. Sat one person away from Sasha Shulgin for awhile, but didn't meet him. Met some very nice other people though. What I didn't post about was a "guild of guides" meeting - I'm guessing 100-150 people crowded into a room for that one. Really a good scene. Planning a wilderness trip with someone I met at that meeting.

^^awesome post man. let us know how the camping trip goes. can i come? :)

i just wanted to post a quote from PiHKAL
he's telling "Alice" why he does this type of research

"My hope is that, here and there, someone with a good mind - and heart - uses one of these tools and perhaps begins to understand something he didn't understand before. And that there may be a few with the courage and ability to write about what they've learned, so that others can read and begin to think"..."each voice counts. All I can hope for is that there'll be enough voices and enough time."

keep the fuckin trip reports rollin' in!!! :)
