i wont tell you how stupid you are. i wont tell me own kid that either... she is nearly same exact age as you are n has no direction, doesnt school either etc... I think it scares her too and she was looking forward to joining the military and at one point in time i was ok with that . I was also going in to the military when i was yalls age but in the end couldnt for health reasons... I just had this same discussion with her the other day and i will tell you same as i told her ..Think long and hard about joining any military service at this point in time... If you pay any attention to what is going on in own world ( and you should if you dont) you will see that one day our military police and other service type members of society will be in a sense drafted by the govt to do some really crazy rotten things to our fellow humanity that i am positive you will not agree with...You will not have a choice in what you have to do . Military rule is rather funny that way..So be prepared for when that day comes and you must fulfill your "duty " to our govt authorities and keep it in mind in making any career decisions at this point in time. If you feel the urge to help others and fulfill your part to our fellow citizens n freedoms etc then do it locally rather than globally . Learn new things about survival and living out in the world for the next year or so and really think about what it is you would eventually like to do...Once ya sign on the govt's line , it doesnt much matter if 3 months later in your waiting time you decide you really dont want to do it afterall... AS you said your life has no direction n it scares you... Dont make any crazy ass two - ??? long commitment when your mind is so scattered...
look into the red cross volunteer training program, the peace corps, any number of ways for teenagers to get some training and direction helping people RIGHT HERE IN THE USA. then as you get older, if you feel the pull, you will have already developed some experience in service and will likely get the best calls. one of my roommates was a disaster relief director for the red cross annd she would be called out for all kinds of fascinating and highly fulfilling duties helping humanity all over the world. doesn't that sound amazing? do it before you have children. me, i have to wait years and years now before i can follow my dream. i'd wanted to be in the peace corps or red cross since i was 6. ah, well, we forget our dreams when we're struggling to keep drawing breath. i think you're primed, i think you'll love your life. you're likely one of the few teenagers i've heard of recently who give a shit about anything at all besides getting laid.
I really can't add to the already great advice. You don't want to join the military though, not at this time and place. There are alot of different programs you can be active in without puting yourself in danger, and still be making a difference in the world. I'll admit when I was younger I was ashamed of myself for feeling that I would never in my life want to join the military. But I see it differently now. Being in the military is not the be all end all some people see it as. Don't get me wrong: I have all the respect in the world for those that are currently serving, as well as the veterans that have since hung up their hats. But I have no interest in going away from my family and getting myself killed, only to please the pockets of a war monger and the oil industry. Without turning this into a huge political fight, I am amazed that our current "commander in chief" if ya wanna call him that, has managed to totally avoid the real issues in this country for 8 years, and so few still seem to care. Hell, if we stopped worrying about the other side of the world, and fighting an unwinnable war, maybe we would have a more stable economy, lower gas prices, and better health care and wages. /END RANT
No offense at all intended, but don't be a dumbass. You're in war fighting for a country that doesn't give a SHIT about you, nor me, nor anybody else in here. Like was said, for an old white man who profits from your sensless fighting. Imagine if you ever do engage in combat, how would you feel if your best buddy gets shot. Or even if you shoot someone else. I don't know if you are about the Peace and Love like I am, but you also be a HUGE Hypocrite. Don't do it. If you have no life direction that's fine. You're still young.
peace corps and red cross are great ideas however, i'll come at this with another angle. as most of you know or should know by now - i attend a military college. some people need that structure. and its quite an experience. yes, i hate it now, but i cherish the moments i have - the friendships i've made. i go to a school, where you can decide not to join the military after school. i'm not joining. however, plenty of my friends have - they've made their own choices. get around the BS here, and you'll get quite an experience. as much as i want to leave this place - this place will always be close to my heart, for the training i went through (the military training). the best part is that you dont' have to join if you dont' want to. you live a military lifestyle without giving up anythign to the gov't. just a different idea thrown out there.... let the hate begin
No hate here, that would be nice, I would have considered that if there was a school like that in my area.
Thank you sir, you didn't do so bad yourself. I just got done reading about your shit trip to Orlando, lol. Anyways, I'm actually going to look into the Peace Corp now. Not as in join them, as in research them. I have my life plans pretty solid right now, but I'm only 15 and they will surely change as often as my Hobbies change. Peace and Love, John. I
aa good friend of mine is heading to Africa - i forget which country right now - with the peace corps. she attended this school. her husband (one of my best friends) is heading to BUD/S soon.
Well, there goes all hope of this Peace Corp stuff. They are a good company and all, filled with good intention I bet. But they are really into promoting the U.S. of fucking A. They have to much pride in this country, when there is nothing really to be prideful about. Anyone know of some pure organizations, not corrupted, that does good for the people?
There is alot to be proud of in this country. The thing is, most of those good qualities come from good hard working Americans like us, and NOT the government.
How can anyone define what a person should be proud of? Your allways going to have a few bad apples. Our laziness in allowing those bad apples take over the whole batch.. Thats what we shouldnt be proud of. The essence of the U.S is what started the real persute for freedom. Our for fathers new that there would be people who would use are ways against us.. This is THE REASON FOR OUR CONSTITUTION. This is the reason our constitution, our bill of rights are rightin in the way they are.. We have all the power as a people that we need.. We cant even control our neighbors.. We gave all the power to the police.. And to our government.. By simply saying you fix it. How did they choose to fix it by one by one making small little laws that if you really read our taking our rights away.. What do we do we vote them right in. For those people that do believe in what our country stands on and are still proud of it.. How dare you say they shouldnt be proud. Or for that matter be allowed to spread the few good things that still exist in our country. Lets not improve the world and the name of country in hopes to iliminate some of the corupt lets sit at home and tell everyone else how theyre failing at it. Continue with our day to day mienute lives. Or hell lets just rob a liquir store in protest.. Yeah the piece core thats who we need to be attacking.
Shatarag, who was your post directed to??? Sounds kinda hostile to me. If me, I never attacked this country, if anything, I defended it. I merely pointed out the corruption in our current government. There is much to be proud of in this country, but there are many things that still need work.
