I was talking about being reasonable in general. You seemed to think you had already established that you were not a reasonable person. To highlight this, you took you not being reasonable about one particular thing and then used a partial quote from yourself to highlight that you were not a reasonable person..
So, you are saying that when I said... As for being reasonable, I am not, it didn't establish that I wasn't reasonable about this subject, you know, the subject we are talking about??? Perhaps I should have addressed general life, even though the conversation is about exactly what I was talking about, not general life? Would you feel better if the whole line was quoted??? Do you need this written in indelible ink on your forehead to grasp that when it comes to kids being abused, I will always, always, always err on the side of caution for the kids? Didn't the fact that I said; or that in the other thread related to this; As I said, why do you keep arguing points that I have already 100% agreed with multiple times... I am 100% unreasonable when it comes to children being harmed... I will take zero chances on this matter. How do you explain to a child that you are sorry that you put them in harms way, because although you heard rumors of dangers, seems you couldn't back them up, you ignored them?
Perhaps you are missing the point, that I am saying you seem not to be reasonable person. Not just about this, in general...like I said. "I was talking about being reasonable in general." Bastardising your own words didn't establish that you wasn't reasonable about this subject. I knew that from the sentence you bastardised. "Would you feel better if the whole line was quoted???" No.
oh no... you don't think I'm reasonable at all?? Whatever will I do.... Oh wait... I care about that, as much as I do the rest of your stated opinions in this thread Odon... and seem you apparently are unable to have a conversation about a subject without constantly trying to make it about me personally rather then the subject at hand, I see no point in continuing on with you...
I didn't expect you to lose any sleep about it. I only mentioned it because it is difficult to talk to somebody that is potentially unreasonable in general...so just wanted to let you know.
For me Michael Jackson was part of my life. Even before Billy Jean I loved Ben from the movie Willard. His music filled my second college experience when I had to retrain under Reagan (Billy Jean had just come out). When my nephews were growing up he affected them the same way through his music and style with the red jacket and the Thriller video. He's a part of my life and my family's life experience. Sorry but his tunes and the pictures of his dress, dance and style will be in our heads forever. You can't take that away from his public no matter how hard you try. And the moonwalk...who will ever forget it.
I agree 100% with what you said, gardener--he was a part of my life too--heck, he was my idol--I've been a big fan of his since I was 11 years old--I loved (and still love) all of his music, and to watch him dance was just magical! And yes, I have a Michael Jackson jacket too--it's a replica of the one he wore in his Beat It video--I got it for my 14th birthday--and I still have it to this day! I even dressed up as Michael Jackson for Halloween back in 8th grade! But it's like you said, gardener--he will be with us forever--may he never be forgotten! Rest in peace, Michael!
I hate his songs, but I feel sorry that he was framed for being a child molester, and I feel sorry for whatever caused the bleach ordeal. It's weird though... he died on my birthday.
he was just a kid in his mind.. probably died the age of 11 when his dad was beating the shit out of him making him famous... which is actually sad..
You know the one thing that always was strange to me about michael jackson- how he has become an Icon to so many of the black community when he spent his entire life paying to look as white as possible, his skin, he literally took off his nose, i mean god knows if someone had a penny for every issue michael jackson had they'd be Donald Trump, but it's just that he got so batty, and early enough (at least it seems) and since, for whatever sad reasons that they may be, but he obviously didn't want to be black, so I just am surprised he is considered a black icon- and hey i'm don't follow the guy so it's more or less pondering if someone has an explanation that's fine! I'd love to hear it!
He always considered himself an African American, words that came out of his own mouth. Whether he really did have a skin condition or not, he claimed to consider himself an African American, and genetically was one. Perhaps the fact that he's considered a black icon is a testament to the fact that inspiration and legacy can transcend visual or physical stimuli. One would think that being black, or white, or anything else is more than just a skin colour.
people like that: performers) and such continue to have body transition. probably too, wanting to be someone else.. He also had a skin disease.. Im pale skin, Id rather be darker all over. I can understand to why someone wouldnt like their own skin color.
