I was thinking of a PolarPope. Not BiPolarPope, just PolarPope.
    A Esquimaux or Inuit–Yupik CircumPolarPope.

Think about it, he'd be on top of the world, which is closer to heaven, right beside the Claus dude, and they sorta dress the same (he and the Esquimaux Inuit–Yupiks). Notice the hats.

In addition, the Swiss Guard is accustomed to the snow, so it all works out.

That's true. Well, not the entire truth.
It isn't surprising that an organisation consisting of 1 billion people paedophilia isn't going to rear it's ugly head - along with every other crime known to man (and woman).
I don't know if there was a cover up.
It does feel like it wasn't left up to mere man to punish these people, it was left up to God.
It does feel like the Pope isn't really interested in human law.
They believed they were dealing with it 'in house' as it were. I might be wrong.
I have no love for the Catholic Church, but I certainly wouldn't come out with the type of comments that are prevalent here, though.
It isn't like the other 5 billion people are any better (or worse).
It's more likely they have a paedophile in there own family than a priest they might meet.

Most certainly? Oh I highly doubt it.
You will know what they tell you.
I don't really care much though, to me this was a good Pope. A really, really good one.

nope, thats around the time you can expect an official apology. evidence'll continue to pile up in the meantime, but we won't see many criminal trials. maybe some people'll get a little blame once they're safely dead.

John Paul II was likely the most beloved Pope. The one resigning is simply plain evil.

Of course, John Paul II was something special, there won't be another one like him. No one is arguing that.
However, you're wrong, this one wasn't evil. If you think that, maybe you should think about yourself too. Why do you even care, go be atheist somewhere else.

    To be fair:

“You have suffered grievously, and I am truly sorry,” the pope said in a long-awaited, eight-page pastoral letter to Irish Catholics. “Your trust has been betrayed and your dignity has been violated.” He also criticized Ireland’s bishops for “grave errors of judgment and failures of leadership.”

An excuse is worse and more terrible than a lie, for an excuse is a lie guarded.
    — Pope John Paul II

It can take an extremely long time, though.

I think you are right about criminal trials...

The new Pope has to be conservative. A resolute defender of the faith and morality, in this perverted age of abortion and gay-marriage.
    Someone charismatic too.
