It's degrading to women as a whole. As a woman, I don't like seeing other women portrayed like that. Sex is a private matter. I love sex but like Piaf said, "watching others have sex doesn't do it for me."
Women should feel comfortable to 'make love' and do what comes naturally and not feel pressured to perform like a porn star. Guys get ideas from porn and then want their girl to try out ludicrous things..
Produced porn is mostly lame, but I watch it sometimes. There's 12 TVs with porn constantly playing at the lifestyle club we go to. Homemade porn is awesome though. Photo swapping is rad too. Way hotter than fake tits and bad acting.

I have seen some porn not so bad but most of it makes women look like slaves to sex rather then partners to sex. Home porn can be much better, at least if they act like crap you know they aren't paid a pretty buck to do it. I tend not to watch it but have a few times. I wouldn't mind if it was more for educational purposes then to prove there are slutty women who will let people do nearly anything to their bodies for a pile of money. No money could make me do that, unless they drugged me too possibly and I do think many of them are drugged.

I don't believe in that heaven crap, but within the context of the relgion, I'm pretty sure heaven is about leaving bodily notions behind. Now if you want to apply your remark to the people living a real life on earth, that might work better.
I don't think you can blame porn any more then you can blame Gangsta Rap, Metal Music, Movies, Guns, and Video Games. If somebody is going to watch something and act on it in a violent or stupid way, chances are that person already has severe metal problems and probably should have been locked up in the first place.
I don't think it's harmful so long as you are able to differentiate between fantasy and reality. I can't imagine that being a porn star is less degrading than being a micromanaged fast food worker, to be honest. It's hard work and can probably mess you up psychologically, but so can a lot of other things... when I worked in fast food all those years ago I definitely thought it was demeaning. I mean, yes, some porn stars have really tragic lives but you can say the same thing about Phillip Seymour Hoffman or former Olympic athletes or rock stars... when they die off/fuck up they think more about the 'tortured artist' and the 'pressures of fame' yet nobody attacks the music industry or the film industry... and yet when a porn actress leads a troubled life and dies off, it's all about 'the evils of the porn industry' which is apparently more full of drugs and despair than the other soul-killing facets of the entertainment world. I might be wrong, but a lot of people go to sites like xtube where people post homemade videos. You can't really argue that that kind of thing is degrading to women or men or people because it's people, some of whom are married to/deeply in love with each other, having consensual sex in the confines of their own home. They aren't on drugs or being exploited by anyone... they're doing something kinky together because it's part of who they are. I think a lot of the resistance to porn comes from the religious right, most of whom are still living in the dark ages of sexual repression. I do think that lines need to be drawn and not all forms of porn are positive, but you could say the same thing about violence in movies. But kids shouldn't be allowed to watch it-- they should probably do something about that, actually. I liked the idea of having an 'xxx' extension in place of '.com' to make sure porn sites were kept separate. But so long as people are being told that their porn-viewing is shameful, no one is going to come out and be 'cool' with it, and everyone is just going to lie to each other's faces about watching it... with a few people admitting it online in a joking, not-so-in-depth fashion. Porn is pretty similar to alcohol... in moderation it's fine, but if you do too much then you could screw up your life.
Just so ya all know, this right here on earth is hell, if we survive it with a good attitude we go to heaven, if not we just fall back in as dirt to the earth and are forgotten over time, didn't you all know that? I think the men in porn are almost always gross and most of the time the women are. So nah I dont watch it very often.
Quite often they are not picked for their looks or ability to have good sex, but their dick size. They do the sex part as the script tells them I am sure.
