I bought my sister an Atreyu best of CD (I liked them when I was 14), and burned her a copy of the Dark was the Night folk compilation that has a lot of interesting new artists on it, as well as another CDR of a mix I made her. Each CD-R has a quote on it, Dark was the night says "without struggle there is no progress" by frederick douglass and the mix i made says "I can barely conceive of a type of beauty in which there is no Melancholy" by Baudelaire. and in the track listing for my mix I wrote some pretty stuff about bravery has to do with not turning from despair so you can ultimately conquer or benefit from it. personally i think its a nifty gift. its the only one i did though.
my family spends maybe 20 bucks on each person, if that... we aren't into spending lots of money that we don't have for shit. this year i made xmas cards by hand and that was my gift to people actually no more like 10 haha
i wish i could atleast watch christmas movies. my cable just got cut off. Money is low, low, low right now.
Christmas is mainly for children....i devote all my love, time, energy and money ive got to buy there gifts. Your very lucky to discuss weather you receive gifts or not.....I lost my family over a year ago apart from my beautiful sister....So the greatest gift of all i will be getting this year is,seeing and feeling the warmth of my children's joy and happiness that Santa has been. Priceless....
funny you say that, someone asked me what im getting for xmas. I said I got a new roof.. didnt you decorate ? "No! im a Muslim".. that pretty much shuts them up..
Well i'm 20 almost 21 and I buy my family presents and they buy me some. We exchange gifts on Christmas day. It's probably gonna be a strong tradition for awhile..
I'm 21, I still get presents but not as much as I used to at all. And it's mostly things I pick out anyway so it's not like I'm surprised. My other close family members and I still exchange gifts, too. But we don't spend too much on each other.
i believe that giving gifts at a certain time of year cheapens the gift. i would rather gift something immediately, to show that i think of the recipient throughout the year, not just when i have to.
my parents spend roughly 500 on my brother and i every year, depending on what we want/what they find. i don't see this stopping until i'm out of college probably my mom's side of the family has stop exchanging gifts for financial/other reasons my dad's side does like 25 for each of the kids from aunts/uncles and my grandparents spend like 100 on all the kids, and my parents spend 100 on them. it's all very complex money wise, but almost everyone (older) just gives each other gift cards. haha it's just easier. i never do any shopping for anyone really, i mean it's all figured out and i don't want to disturb the pool of things. if i see something that stands out to me for someone, or i get a REALLY good idea, i'll buy/make it. this year i'm giving my grandma this little wooden snow man we were giving out at customer appreciation day where i work. she loves snow men, it's really cute, plus it's free so i thought that was pretty cool. and i made my little cousin a friendship bracelet, she's def going to love it
I got my mum some really nice baoding balls and made her a card...I ll just smoke my dad up and draw something for my nan
My aunt and uncle just left and I got a pack of guitar strings and 20 bones.... Kind of sick since I recently broke a string on one of my guitars. I can't wait till the morning lol.
neither can i, we're going out to my uncles farm. they have the COOLEST dogs in the world (besides my fat guy haha) and it gives me an excuse to wear one of my new dresses
I neverrrr wear dresses, but I got one for xmas and these sweet ass black boots, so I'm gonna wear it when I go to my boyfriends for new years!
i never wear them either, but i recently fell in love with a whole lot of them from alloy and just got them all. they're all so cute, and they all fit really well!
You got all the dresses from there? Haha Ima check out that website.. maybe order some more dresses or something.
I still get presents at 21. Granted they're not as spectacular as they were. Money, boxers, sweaters, deodorant, a razor, socks, shorts, a towel, slippers, sweets. It's the thought that counts. And the roast dinner of course =]
I wore a dress yesterday haha.I was gonna save it for today but I said nehhh. It even had christmas colors in it I'm just rocking pants boots and a sweater shirt today.Stayin' comfy
