Don't mind some of these people.

Meanwhile, just wash your hair and keep it clean. There's no rules to what kind of soap, or how often as long as it's residue free soap. The main ingredient will be patience. I had my hair backcombed for me by someone as well, and then it's been all natural from there, so I have a similar experience. As far as the dandruff goes, I am not sure what to tell you 'cause I don't have that issue. Washing your hair AS NEEDED will help. Your scalp probably needs some time to adjust to the new lifestyle.

Taming frizzies? Forget it. Or try some pure aloe vera (If the ingredients aren't 99% or more aloe vera, throw the bottle away). I'm at 1 month, and I have frizzies like crazy. Learn to enjoy them, they're part of your beginner dreads... later they will be gone if you keep your dreads. Also, my frizzies keep my young dreads looking fattish, which I like.

Keep reading around the forums. Everyone has unique experiences. Be encouraged that there's nothing to worry about, you're gonna be fine!

    :)

Not 100% sure what to tell you about the dander/skin flaking issue. I haven't had that yep, I am only at 5 weeks.

As for the frizz, it settles down- and then acts up. It goes away, and then comes back. Some people have it go away almost entirely. Other people's dreads are frizzy all the time, even after years. My best advice is to learn to love them as they are, with the knowledge that they may change.
