There is a veil that is drawn between your lifetimes. This is to prevent you from getting distracted in this life. People have a hard enough time with the one they've got. As a soul approaches the end of these cycles, more and more of the past lives become visible. You can look behind you and see them line up like a string of pearls. Each has contributed to the education of your soul. People like Jesus are graduates. This is more Hindu than Christianity, but Jesus had to use the beliefs that his people would understand and be familar with. Judaism didn't budge. Christianity never did understand. But Jesus did. x
Did Jesus not teach about reincarnation? I read somewhere that the Christian church omitted alot of his true teachings.
If we are all getting progressively more and more enlighened with each successive live, then why are individuals like Jesus so rare? Should there be a bunch of people near this point by now?
Because Jesus realized something that the vast majority never has not or are not able to. Life really hasn't changed much from Jesus' time. People were worried about the political, social, and religious issues of their time. People are preoccupied as we are today. Although we have TV, movies, mp3 players, cell phones, and other modern convienences, people were preoccupied w/ other things, such as theater, fights, religion, etc. Today, a majority of people are still living the lie of the ego, believing their identity is their ego, which separates individuals from others and from their Divine essence God. Jesus reached that point when he realized his oneness with God within- his followers never understood. Buddhism is the same way- not all of Buddha's followers reached the stage that the Buddha was at. Some of the meaning would be lost on them- even Ananda, who (supposedly) memorized every single sermon given by the Buddha didn't reach enlightenment until later in his life. In other words, memorizing the teachings of a spiritual master like Buddha or Jesus does not guarentee a complete understanding or enlightenment of those principles. It's like teaching a kid how to do simple derviatives- they may be able to multiply the variable (x) with the value of the exponent (2) and subtract one from the exponent (2-1) and get the correct answer of 2x^1, but the child would not understand the implications and functions of deriviatives until they had a better understanding of other principles of math. Really? Can you prove the existence of a soul? Is the soul eternal? If it is eternal, then it wouldn't go through changes. Similarly, if the soul is eternal, then, it wouln't go to cycles. Obviously, something eternal is permanent. How can something permanent go through cycles? How can something permanent go through changes?
Look at the conservation of energy. Energy cannot be created nor destroyed, it can only change forms. I would say this means energy is eternal but still goes through cycles. Unless you contend that this law is false. Peace and love
I would say people really do. I started posting at this site at the beginning of December, and in the short time period of 3 months, i've completely changed. I've been exposed to so many ideas here, it's great. If you want to see what im talking about, look up my name and find the old threads I used to start back in LSD forum. I wasn't an ass or anything, it's just I didn't know ANYTHING! I had to ask so many questions. people's explanations turned into another thing for them to yet further explain. but i've realized that admitting that we dont really know if half the battle. in about 3 months, i'll probably look back on this post and think about how retarded it is. isn't life grand?
He most likely did as this is a centerpiece of eastern mysticism. Of course Christianity have never been anything like Jesus himself. x
all this talk about death [really the only thing religion is good for] i cannot wait to die perhaps tonight i will let you know how it all works either way
There is no time limit. Maybe it can best be explained as a mathmatical thing. When the world was young, it had a small population. As the years went by, the population increases allowing more souls to incarnate. But still, in the beginning, the numbers were small. It takes many lifetimes to perfect a soul. The "old souls", small in number, will produce a small number of perfected beings, Most of these are now done. The younger souls, whose numbers are larger, are just now coming into maturity. The Age of Aquarius is symbolic for this event. Some believe that there are many old souls incarnate right now to witness this mass blooming of humanity. x
If you want proof, you have to do it for yourself. You won't believe otherwise. The only way to do this is to elevate your own spiritual awareness so you can experience it directly. The soul is not eternal because it is a creation. All creation is eventually reabsorbed back into the godhead. It's a looooong cycle. In the meantime, it will undergo many changes because creation is continuous division. Things only appear permanent when their cycle exceeds your cycle. x
Xexon, you seem to be very knowledgable. What does it mean to be born with no karma? In several readings done on me, I have been told I came into this earth with no karma. No one has been able to elaborate on the subject, all they've had to say is that it is very rare.
From my experiences w/ people in my church, my religion class now, and the many hundreds to thousands of other people I've encountered in my life, you seem like an exception to the rule. People can become aware of something missing spiritually, but do they really make much spiritual progress? I don't think so. Otherwise, the world would be a much different place. Many times, people go on with their lives and search for meaning outside themselves, whether in material object or religious institutions. In my Christian religion class, I believe I am the only person who is not Christian. I feel sorry for those who hold the belief that their God is so superior to them and they are separate- I think this is one evidence of ego's influence on what was originally a spiritual message from Jesus. Also, it seems to be contradictory that their loving God would punish them forever for mistakes that they made b/c of the Fall of Adam and Eve- their God doesn't seem to loving. Plus, many religious people are not necessarily spiritual b/c of their clinging to self-importance and dogmatic beliefs- the spiritual side has no beliefs, only knowings, no self-importance b/c we are one with God/Tao and not separate. I have found religious people can use passages from the Bible and other texts to justify hatred and murder, disobeying Jesus's second law of loving thy neighbor as thyself. When people begin to live what they preach, perhaps there might be some spiritual awakening, although I'm not holding my breath. Peace and love
I think you've had your leg pulled on several occasions. When a soul is perfected, the karmic account is reduced to zero. You have no obligation to return to this world. Even Jesus had karma, and it got the best of him a few times. Karma is based upon your actions in this world. Unless you're frozen into a slab of carbonite, you'll have karma. The trick is to not create bad karma and tie yourself here because of that debt. To be totally selfless, and act without personal desire is the only way to be here without karma. You are acting on behalf of the godhead. Legend has it that there is only one or two people on earth at any given time that can do this. Babaji is one of them, but the amount of poo one has to wade through to find any truth about him is pretty daunting. Legends and tales abound. Most of them products of fertile imaginations. x
Exactly the answer I was looking for. Xexon, you truly are enlightened. I came to this earth on my own choosing, I did not have to, this I've known since as far as I can remember. I came here to help humanity, I am glad to see I am not the only one. Such a relief. It seems I have instant karma this lifetime. I do not believe my leg has been pulled on this no karma thing. My aunt did two readings on me, one before I was born and one after. She was a very reliable "psychic" if you'd like to call her that. She died when I was very young, but she left the readings with my parents and told them to give them to me when I was ready. She knew I had an important job to do on this earth, she knew I'd need the help. Do I dare claim I'm a perfected soul? I don't know, I don't like to boost my ego, I don't want people to think I'm any "better" than them, but in order to explain my situation, I must go through my ego. Everytime I read Jesus' teachings or hear someone preach about following Jesus' ways, I can't help but realize that I'm not following in his footsteps, but I'm LIVING in his footsteps. I live and breath compassion. I am an Aquarian, I really do believe I am here to pave the way for the age of Aquarious. Some people may say I'm crazy for the things I speak about, but I know I'm not.
Let yourself mature a little. The proof will be in the fruit you produce. And watch out for worms. Especially half a worm. x
