As long as all parties are old enough, willing, and can afford it why stop them? Lawyers aren't all that respected either, should we outlaw that?!

 

Nobody is going to stop it. Especially the upper-end stuff, which does not involve standing on a streetcorner. The guys usually pay in cash. Where is the evidence?

 

Lawyers are "not respected" in a totally different way. But everyone needs a lawyer, and no one minds that you visit one.

I believe that prostitution is a "necessary evil" (and by prostitution in my lingo - it involves porn movies too).
Without it - there would be more rapes, women sold as slaves and a lot of other shit I'm not thinking right now and some I don't know about.

For my part, I don't use it (well - ok some "visual" porn) but not a person. To be quite honest - I have no clue how I could have an erection knowing that someone is sleeping with me for money...

I used to be completely for it. If a person wants to have sex for money, and a person wants to buy sex, then it should be legal. Problem solved.

Unfortunately the problem isn't solved, and the women are often desperate drug addicted and beaten by customers. Some of that would be solved by decriminalization, but other aspects of it are just the darker nature of people that'll still be expressed even with legalized prostitution.

I've been desperate before. I don't want to pray on anyone elses desperation. So I think it should be legal, but I wouldn't pay money for sex, and I kinda think the practice is predatory by design in most cases, so I understand why it's loathed in many places.

In other places it's loathed because jesus hates vagina, which is gay.

Damn Daisy, it's not the 1950s. Prostitutes are still humans, hell they might even be able to eat at the same restaurants and attend the same schools as we do one day. Yes, Larry Flint had a dream. Anyways, why is it important for your peers to know your sex life? I'm sure you haven't called your mom every time you laid down with a guy romantically have you?! A lot of things aren't looked upon in a good light by the masses but doesn't mean it's wrong.

 

It's just like any other job that you hate going to daily.... it's just another form of intertainment... like strippers.

I think it would be something that wasn't as 'grimey' if it was socially acceptable and it was by full choice of the person in question.

Everyone has a choice, what they choose is up to them... and that goes for everyone. The rich choose to be rich, the poor choose to be poor. I don't care what anyone says, it's all by choice when it's all said and done.

The problems of , I suppose *some* prostitition are largely the problems *caused by* society's ill.Its not "per se" an ill IMO.
Yeah people do jobs they don't love , but that doesn't mean the job should be banned.
I think the West has too many hang-ups about sex.Which in turn , turn it into a force which can be unhealthy.
