Exactly. There is nothing wrong with not wanting strangers to see you nude or touch you if you don't want them too. It is your body after all.

Being comfortable in my skin does not mean that I would welcome touch by TSA. It depends on what they touch and how they touch it. I would prefer that they not touch me at all.

I would not want to be nude in a "look at me" kind of way and I sure don't like being stared at with lust. So I have my limits. In a social setting, being nude in a nudist campground is the setting I feel most comfortable in.

I respect that not everyone will have my level of comfort with nudity. I guess it becomes an issue if you won't let a doctor or nurse look at you for medical reasons in a private setting. Sometimes it is best to endure it for the sake of your health.
At our community gym, you have the option of changing clothes in the locker room and using the shower. That is not a problem for me and at times, it is easier than going home to change and shower.

Most of what I have been describing is for the most part voluntary nudity, but when you interact with TSA at the airport, they kind of have you over the barrel if you want to fly:
Let us see you naked or let us touch every part of your body including genitals or you don't get to fly. Even I don't like that kind of situation, so I am not dissing anyone who tolerates it less than I do.

I would rather have a pat down, I dont believe that those body scans could be that healthy, and I feel like it is even more of an invasion of my privacy than just an old pat me down.

Body Scanner Attitude launches a line of rude and humorous metallic print apparel (and underwear), designed to embed a protest message in one's own naked body scanner image. Without compromising security, of course.

    ^Good idea?

I haven't flown in years. Long before any of this started.

If I had to, I would opt for the pat down because I don't want to be X-rayed for nude pics!

But it still sucks having to get felt out just to get on a plane!!

If I MUST fly and I absolutely have to be searched, I would much prefer the "pat down" for several reasons. First, I agree, I'm not sure how safe it is to be "scanned" with such xray type devices on a regular basis (or even non-regular). Second, a pat down would create more jobs for people(which we sorely need) and I believe would probably be less likely to be "cheated" by a terrorist or other malicious person.

News Flash! Thousands of NAKED PICTURES of Americans and other travelers from security scans are posted on this website! (Video)

    http://gizmodo.com/5690749/

These are just low res from an older version of the scanner, but they show that the pics are not deleted, but in fact stored and easily copied...

I am glad that people are not going to be bringing weapons into a courthouse to kill the judge if they don't like his sentence on cousin Cooter.

I don't see the point in saving images for everyone, only needed to use as evidence for the prosecution against someone who tried to bring a weapon into the court room.

Truly I dont see the need to submit to either. But if one had to choose, then I would choose the pat down. If there were total refusal of searches by ALL people traveling through the air then that would be a big message, or it could just make lines longer ??

How would people unite when there is no obvious 'enemy' to line up against ?

The enemy, perhaps, is not the surveillance state, nor is it the forces they fight against; it is our own lemming-ish nature that makes us pliant material for wirepullers of any authoritarian kind, in the name of a security that never existed; and now we've got to see the technological revolution firing back at us, slowly deinstalling the ground of innocence, urging us to take a look into the bare mirror.

And it's not just the radiation that isn't very healthy. The body scanners seem like early versions of mind scanners to source conspicious ideas ... enough - geez what got me rambling - enjoy your flight !

The scanners might be exposing you to an unhealthy level of electro-magnetic radiation, and I don't wanna be groped. I think the metal detectors are sufficient enough, being that most deadly weapons are made of metal. I can't really think of any that aren't. Even if someone wanted to shove a bomb up their ass, the detonator would still contain solder and whatnot. The only thing they'd really be stopping is heroin trafficing.

The irony is it's actually easier to get into a courthouse than a plane. Courthouse you only have to walk through a metal detector and they peek into your bags.
