I agree with what you've said, but is it just the Republicans on this issue?

It's an all of us issue.

I believe the notion that we are all going to be 100% safe is sheer fantasy. No one is. Life is risky, depending on the way we look at it.

To me, this is such an invasion of our civil rights as prescribed in the Fourth Amendment, unreasonable search and seizure. No one has the right over our own bodily privacy.

I'd rather take a train, a bus, a ocean cruise or drive.

Btw, I do agree with you that the Republicans are pretty sketchy in thier vocabulary in what they really mean.

I didn't mean to imply that the TSA mess was the fault of Republicans. Maybe it was my signature that gave you that impression. Actually, I think the TSA would be pretty much the same if Democrats had been in charge.

the airline is an institution an entity of its one design. You couldn't go to jail and tell the corrections officers not to touch you.. This is a privatized business ..

It's best to do some research before you fly, like looking up lists of what is allowed in your carry on, etc.

Showing up at the airport and acting crazy will not only NOT get you on the plane, it will confirm to the TSA that they are keeping the crazies on the ground.

I would just take a pat down from a same sex TSA. Really, I have to go through much worse at the doctor's office...at least they don't have spectrums.

I voted for the full body scan, but actually I don't really care. I'm usually pretty desparate to fly, because it takes 20-30 hours off the trip time.

Congressman Jason Chaffetz was on CNN a few minutes ago and said that a combination of non-invasive metal detectors in coordination with explosives sniffing dogs are our best hope for real airport security with no rude touches, no peek-a-boo images for TSA guys to chuckle over in their dark viewing rooms.

 

If that's all the time you save, take the train!
After you factor in the time it takes to get to the airport, park, go through security, baggage claim, etc. ground transportation is looking better and better.

I find this all funny...

You will never catch me on a commercial airline in the first place... Nothing to do with a fear of flying or anything like that... in fact, I LOVE flying...

But being packed into a tin coffin with a hundred or more people and then launched into the sky, where if things go wrong, you are at best, going to WISH you were dead, just doesn't seem wise to me...

HOWEVER... IF I for some reason, had absolutely no choice about the matter and I had to get on a commercial airline... not only will I not mind if they want to xray me, pat me down, strip search me, and hell even give me a blow job to make sure I'm not hiding bullets in my dick, but I would be much happier knowing they did the same to every other person who gets on that airplane with me...

If you don't like it... don't fly...
