lol Do you really think the few hundred dollars worth of drinks I've stolen over the years could affect the prices set by one of the largest corporations in the world? Trust me.....nobody on the corporate level even knows about the drinks I've stolen, and the corporate level is where their pricing is decided. I WISH my petty little thefts would impact them in such a way, but that's not likely. lol

That's too bad about your daughter, but you're right.....it could be a lot worse. Regardless, I know it sucks to see your child in pain. Did the other kid get hurt at all?

Yes I KNOW that such seemingly small thefts add up to BIG $$$,
With over 15 years of retail management experience I know for certain that losses from theft are a major component in deciding price setting.
We used to get our asses chewed if the stores shrink was too high. on average it was about 2%-3% annually chainwide. When you are talking about just the one store I worked in with sales exceeding $12 million annually, that 2-3% is a lot of $$.
If our store had shrink exceeding 3% then it impacted any bonus's and could result in management changes (getting fired). Best we ever managed was getting it down to 1.2%, but that is still about $144,000 lost, and that was just one store.
That was just my experience at one drug store. Imagine what the 2%-3% adds up to company wide for a large corporation like Walmart.
Retail business's only have two means of adjusting store profitability, prices and payroll. So maybe petty shoplifting doesn't increase prices, then it costs some cashier her job.
I'm not just saying this to "guilt you", it is the reality of how retail functions.
You're right, your few hundred bucks doesn't impact the company execs, but it does impact other shoppers and employees of that company.
But I'll leave the topic go as it has already consumed too much of the thread.

There was $14,000 dollars worth or makeup/beauty stuff stolen from my work place in 3 months lol. The makeup section opened in like May and by the end of summer they had lost that much already. And that's only a tiny tiny section of the store lol. i don't care though i still get my paycheck

 

No more Shpongletron. Least I got to see it once!

 

Id steal from walmart, if I shopped there. but I do not..
besides the best time to steal is when some assholes are pushing their way in during an xmas rush and the focus is on the main doors.

GB: Yeah, I was doing alright after the whole MXE shit then here we go again. I am seriously thinking about getting on subs or trying clonidine. Idk... I got off coke by myself but shortly after I quit, my coke man left for Cali so I didn't have a hook up so it wasn't around me all the time. Roxi's are always around and before I even think about it I am dropping $300+ a week on pills again and going through withdrawals. It's shameful. I've been fighting this shit for 2 years now. I was clean for a good 8 months when I was tripping every weekend whenever I figured out how to get RC's and psychedelics so easily. Good thing H isn't around or I am sure I would be dead.

P0ly: It's hard to find a Dr. for subs without insurance. I refuse to get on methadone. My old Dr. writes clonidine which may be the way I'll have to go. I would suck it up and go cold turkey but I can't afford to miss work. I just need to get over the withdrawals n stick to my guns once and for all. It's hard to distance myself from the shit when my whole town is full of junkies not to mention the personal reasons I have an issue with addiction. Everyone in my family is dead except for my mom, brother, and sister and I would pack up and leave if it weren't for the fact that my mom is dying of cancer.
