Psychedelics and girlfriends

it feels like half the girls i meet just want to trip with me lol. tripping is nice, but i think there's a little too much hype involved. it can just make things too complicated. living a simple life is full of simple joys is almost always better.

i recently tripped with this girl i have known for pretty much my whole life. it was her first time tripping, and since our lives parallel almost exactly i told her i would introduce her to the psychedelic world. we ended up talking about our childhood memories at some point during the trip at which point it felt like we regressed to our childhood. it was just like being a kid again absolutely fantastic.

i'm a girl, but my ex i was with for 3 years on and off that was against drugs and drinking completely. i drank a lot. i smoked a lot. i did a lot of acid, but i was clean for a year and a half for him. then after that i did it but he only knew for a while i was drinking, then he knew i was smoking, then he knew i was tripping.

there were a couple of guys in between i was with, they knew i did lsd and i've eaten shrooms with one and did lsa with another... since i wasn't in love with either it wasn't really beautiful..

any guys i meet now that have an interest in me (or vice-versa)
either already know, or i make it clear to them that i do drugs, especially lsd (which is pretty taboo for some reason)


but i know what you mean, i totally want to find someone that i am in love with completely and eat lucy with them, it's one of my dreams.

 

Great replies guys. Despite my personality and my choice of lifestyle, I always seem to fall in love with the girls that not only shun psychedelics but never even have the motivation to think beyond what we can see.

Sometimes I think it is because deep down it is nice to have somebody who keeps me on the level and tells me to chill on the deep thinking bit.

Sadly in the end the girl who I fell head over heals in love with could never understand the use of drugs beyond alcohol, and in the end it is probably what destroyed the relationship. I look back now and still wonder if I made the right choices. The one thing I have learned though is this: DO NOT HIDE YOUR USE FROM THE ONE YOU LOVE it will only destroy you and her in tihe end, believe me on this.

 

this should be a given, relationships that work revolve around open and sincere honesty. communication is truly key.

communication in various meanings, including communicating problems and concerns but beyond that, discussing beliefs and communicating and feeding off one anothers ideas. the ideas don't need to be identcial and the discussions don't need to be attempts to persuade or change the other's ideas. rather it should be open to opposition and questioning allowing both sides to grow. Adaptation may result but it should not be the intention. now this being said i think relationships work best with people who adhere to a somewhat similar belief system, though it is not always necessary as long as both people are open minded.

sure psychedelics shouldn't be more important than a loved one, but you would hope that a loved one would accept your personal decision to explore psychedelics for reasons that extend far beyond getting fucked up.

it is easier said than done, but when we arent looking for a lover is usually when someone special enters our lives...not always, but i bet as long as you keep living the way you think suits you best, a girl will come along that will join you or accept your decisions.

While I agree with your thoughts, in a perfect world, that is not the situation I find myself in. I feel that I have an amazing relationship with her except the fact that I do often "leave out details" when talking about things, but don't lie to her. I feel that she's the ying to my yang. When she's OCD and has super high standards, I'm more relaxed and go with the flow. I think that out of all of things in a relationship to have a disagreement/conflict over, psychedelic usage is not in my top 10. I also kind of believe in the philosophy of "once you get the message, hang up the phone". I don't feel that I've learned everything that psychedelics have to teach me but I'm not opposed to stopping usage at some point once I "get it".

If I wasn't with my current girlfriend I would have much better chances of not going back to grad school, having substance abuse issues, and probably not living as full and happy life that I'm experiencing now. You may consider me a hypocrite, etc. but I very few regrets in life and am trying to keep it that way.

 

My (female) view:

Since my first experience with acid, I know there is no way I could fully connect with a guy unless he was in tune to the psychadelic realizations I've had and lives each new moment with these understandings. Even in general, in the first few months after I started trippin', I found it very hard to communicate with "other people" at all - people who weren't in tune to the one-ness, people who were still asleep. I was definitely overwhelmed for a while, unable to express myself in words once I saw that words were so limited, so man-made, system-like... that there was so much beyond what words could describe. And when you connect with someone in that "beyond", when you do drugs with that person, your connection runs much deeper than any sober interaction. Your understanding of one another and of oneself, and of the "one" of you both in your surroundings, is unspoken.

This connection is magnified like crazy when you're making music together. Mind-blowingly amazing..

So for me, the energies that I am drawn to and the energies that draw other guys to me, flow just as they need to and connect us most naturally. I have no doubt that these energies would carry me into love with only someone who is aware of them too... Because once you drop acid, you're never the same.. every day is new. Every day is a trip. (But, there are some people who drop acid and don't come to any particular understanding ... they first see it as a drug and continue to see it as a drug afterwards...it doesn't "work" for them.) To those for whom acid is not just a drug, but an awesome clusterfuck of spiritual growth and sensory exploration, how could you really connect with someone who is still on "ground level"?

I have tried, as of late... there have a been a few guys I've met that are definitely cool to chill with, but I can see immediately if they lack in spiritual understanding. If I talk about how the grass is like hair, and they can't see how trippy that is as I do...there's no way it would work out on that deeper level. But that deeper level is closer to your core.. I'd have to filter myself to talk about other things, with other words I don't care to use in the first place. I'd feel .. "older". I don't mean to condescend by saying that, for I myself wouldn't be here if not for the guidance of my wise buddies

So I guess to sum this all up, I would say find yourself a trip partner and make the most of your adventures together.. nothing's trippier than two infinities meshing as one.
