Yeah, I was pretty sure I was getting what I "needed" when I needed it. Knowing this does not tend to make me any happier with some situations, however, when I'm sulking. Of course, sulking seems to be one of the things I'm being trained out of right now. But by God, I will hold onto my bad moods no matter what! LOL

I used to watch my mental friend having a conversation out loud with somebody while simultaneously exchanging telepathic messages with me about her external conversation, and I would think, "How the hell can she do that?" Maybe I need to practice juggling.

A few years ago, as I mentioned earlier, I became more deeply immersed, and I definitely ran up against my own limitations. I was so immersed in the internal world, my wife started complaining that I wasn't paying attention to her or the kids anymore. I had to pull back, so I could function again. I told my "angels" I needed to tone it down, and they eased off on me.

But it was amazing, and very cool sometimes.

Thank you for the reminder, goddess. And the encouragement. It was just what I "needed."

There was one woman I used to mentally "hang out" with--a girl, practically, but her physical youth belied her spiritual age. Among the many whimsical head trips she took me on, she gave me a glimpse of exploring the universe without a space ship.

Don't know if I'm up to the task, Hotwater. Sometimes I truthfully scare myself silly. But I do seem to keep coming back for more.

Anyway, thank you for the encouragement and confirmation. It's a long, lonely road sometimes, so it's good to run into somebody once in a while who's on the path and willing to talk about it.

 

Yeah well, I haven't mentioned the sheer hell I've been through in the last seven years. But it's all about discovering ourselves, isn't it? (Groan) Anyway I'm writing a book about the hell--and the nice parts, too, just to be fair. So maybe that will make the hell more worthwhile.

I like that--the reason I'm sulking is due to my intellectual brilliance. LOL Well thank you, goddess, that feels better than thinking I have a brain chemical imbalance. LOL

 

okay, I'm trying to set a date to see this psychic lady right now. Hopefully she will be willing to work with me.

Also , through conversations with friends and family, I've found that I can 'read' people... I guess you could say? Within the first few seconds/moments of contact. I thought this was normal for people, but I guess not. Certainly I have found nobody else that can pick up on things like this.

I didn't realize it before, but It makes sense now that I think of it, how my sense of caution and danger, or sense of relax-ed-ness (is this a word? lol) or friendliness can fire up almost immediately after meeting someone. Or how I am the one to go to with advice about other people because I can 'read' the situation and people involved. Certain instances come to mind... in which the odds were against my prediction of the outcome but, as it turns out, the people involved acted exactly as I expected.

It's like I have a feeling about the person... Like, maybe I would be able to tell how another person I've just met would react in a certain situation. Or maybe how I can (or I think I can at least) predict another person's personality... kind of hard to describe in words but I'm sure somebody out there knows exactly what I'm talking about.

I've heard of this as aura reading? Can somebody help me with this term? I don't think it's correct, but maybe somebody can point me in the direction of links or info? Thanks...

Could be interesting. I agree with what psychedelic goddess said before--your spirit guide is working with you. However sometimes your guide will bring you people and experiences for specific reasons--though often the reasons may not be what you think they should be.

i think most people are able to "read" people and situations and just don't realize they do it - everyone has a hunch or gut feeling that they'll go with from time to time, you're just fortunate enough to realize what's going on

so many ways to "read" - auric reading is one of them, but i prefer to incorporate as many methods as possible in order to get the most accurate read on people, things, situations, etc.

don't be afraid to keep asking us questions, lunatic - there are more spiritual teachers out there (and in here) than you may realize

I've had an amazing new insight, goddess. The hugeness of my brain is due to expanded awareness, which is directly proportional to the crowd of spiritual partiers crowding my head. Ummm, hold on, I think I can write an equation for this concept...

 

I find all this really interesting. Would any of you give examples of excercises that you did to enhance your telepathic abilities?

I've had a few telepathic moments - strongest one in particular was when I had a dream that a family friend phoned to tell me her daughter had died, and I was woken up by this dream to the phone ringing, it was her... A lot of people that I know have had these kind of things happen to them, often it involves somebody passing away (like my cousin dreaming of our grandfather dying the night before he died), I suppose because the vibrations are stronger when soemthing like that happens?

I'd really like to train my mind though, I've been looking into Franz Bardon "Initiation Into Hermetics" - excellent book, but I just can't seem to keep motivated/focused.

 

Hmmm...what an interesting question. This is something the book I'm writing will cover in detail, and it's kind of a long story.

In a nutshell, hedoniztica, I think you need to be very highly motivated (spelled: o-b-s-e-s-s-i-v-e). My motivation was provided in the form of very powerful "friends" who manuevered me into a situation that gave me the motivation I needed. Does that sound kind of them? Let me tell you, the situation was the beginning of many kinds of hell. But it worked--I learned.

I don't know if it's necessary to go through hell. All I know is, this is how I learned.

The other thing you need is someone who, preferably, already has the ability, or at the very least has the same strong motivation to learn, because otherwise, how are you going to know your efforts are accomplishing anything?

Finally, you need faith. You need to completely believe that telepathy is real and that it's possible for you to learn.

Once you have the motivation, the partner, and the faith, it's a matter of paying close attention to what's going on in your mind. Meditation will help this--sitting for long periods and paying cloe attention to all the nuances of thought in your mind.

If you have a powerful partner, they can give you "loud" words in your mind, and vivid mental pictures. This makes the task easier. The words can be barely discernible sometimes. Also, a powerful teacher can "tune you in" better, if needed.

On the face of it, the conditions I've outlined here don't seem easy to accomplish. However God brought these conditions to me for a very simple reason: I asked. And I was judged to be ready, because the wheels of circumstance moved into place very quickly afterward. If you need preparations of one kind or another, you might not see results that quickly. However, changes in your circumstances or relationships that seem odd or extremely vexing may be the beginning of your lessons, so pay attention...and don't forget: You asked for it...

you're right though, and i teach my students in general that there are three things required to work effective magick (which also applies to channeling, telepathy etc.)....faith, feeling and focus

have to focus intently, have to truly feel that passion and connection for what you're trying to do, and then have to have faith that all will come to pass as it should

many of us do have to go through hell to get there, but remember it's all about the swing of the pendulum - as low as you go, enables you to reach heights of equal caliber.....and i also have to agree with you - be careful what you wish for!

honestly, the best book on hermeticism that i've found is the Kybalion by the "Three Initiates" - it may have some outdated scientific stuff because it was written so long ago, but the seven laws are beautifully explained, and you can see where this book is the foundation of all others written after it

a good technique for people into energy manipulation is to visualize a "tube" from your brain to your practice partner's brain through which thoughts could travel. (technique from psipog.net) for those of you who already unlocked the ability, I suggest you sheild if you want to work on the sensitivity. being more sensitive allows you to pick up on more, but can overwhelm you and cause your subconcious to associate telepathy with negative feelings. you want to avoid this at all costs.

the tube visualization works very well, as does a "ball" attached to a "string" - i'd definitely recommend experimentation with different types of visualization, as each person is different insofar as what clicks for them

and yes, shielding is a must - there are assholes in every dimension, hehehe

So, about this fear thing, you two. It's too late for me, I've already been scared witless on several occasions. Seriously, severely, traumatically, sweating blood scared. Is there hope for me? Here I was thinking this was part of my spiritual task, and now I'm hearing from you two that it's just a matter of psychic assholes. Well I must admit that I accused them of being assholes too many times to count, but the other part of me thinks: There's something here I need to learn. Please edify me with your thoughts on this.

two different types of fear here - healthy fear, like if you put your hand on a hot stove you'll get burned, and that all consuming crippling fear that prevents us from growing and continuing our quest

sounds like you're working with a healthy sort of fear there - scared shitless at times, learned and grew from it, and have never let it get in the way of your personal evolution or you'd not be here now sharing such great wisdoms with those who need it

 

And you have the greatest gift of any teacher: A positivity that expects and elicits the best from every student.

Well the fear does get in my way sometimes. But you're right: I am here, still carrying on, still looking for the doors left open for me.

I want to tell an amusing story about fear, and about two of my teachers. I'll call them Danni and Mia, to protect the guilty. Both were powerful, but between the two, Mia was clearly the master.

Early in my mental relationship with Danni, I was lying in bed before sleep one night, disgruntled at her for the way she had been treating me externally. I told her she and Mia were witches. Immediately Mia was there (in my mind), and evidently decided to prove how right I was. She became quite convincingly witchlike in my mind, expending a tongue-lashing with cold fury.

I sought to escape by falling asleep. Suddenly I found myself being drawn slowly and relentlessly out of sleep to full wakefulness. I tried to sleep again, and suddenly felt heavily drowsy. Next thing I knew, I was being drawn out of sleep again. This happened over and over, countless times. I really started getting freaked, and finally Mia allowed me to sleep the rest of the night, which by that time was only about four hours.

When I awoke in the morning I was still freaked. I was really afraid of what else Mia might do to me. She seemed to realize she'd gone to far. She told me she would make me happy that day, and she was true to her word. In my mind she became the most soothing, loving companion imaginable.

One time she said something (mentally) that I took offense to, and I asked for an apology. She balked, saying, "Come on, this is silly."

I said, "You told me you would do anything I asked today. I need you to do this, so I can regain the feeling that I have some control."

"You're right," she said. "I'm sorry."

This was a relatively mild example. I would like to say I was never given more than I could handle, but I think the jury is still out on that one. :H

the universe only gives us what it knows we can handle, always helping to expand our limits and realize our potentials, even if it may seem like "punishment" at the time

makes me think of the voice lessons that i took many years ago - i could never understand why the teacher pushed my voice to notes so high it would crack and sound like shit, even strain my throat a bit...... those notes are now easy for me, part of my natural range, and in retrospect i am thankful to my teacher for recognizing my potential and helping me to realize it, even though it sucked at the time, lol
