Well I'll tell you the truth: At this moment I like my limits just fine, thank you, and I'm pissed big time at my so-called teachers. LOL But I'll probably get over it.

Not exactly sure what Mia was teaching me in this particular instance. I suppose for one thing, I learned I could take horrendous treatment that I had to bear all by myself, and still function in my job and family. Another thing I got out of that was a helluva good story, and also a concrete example of the potential psychic power available to all of us. It definitely firmed up my faith in the spiritual realm. There was no way I could convince myself that it was just my imagination. And faith was something I was looking for at that time.

 

ahhh, there you go! be careful what you wish for, hehehe ....your faith was renewed, and you learned you could still function in the "real world" while going through it all

many seekers have made it into the labyrinth, but few have the strength to make it back out sane enough to tell the tale and guide others

Well, let me just pick my jaw up off the floor and get back to something you said about a labyrinth. The scary thing is, see, I couldn't go as far into the labyrinth as I wanted to, and I'm pretty sure I'm going to need to go back in there someday, cuz I ain't seen nearly enough yet. But before I do that, I need to try to put body and soul back together from the last trip. Maybe put my affairs in order. Update my will.

Maybe I'll try to write the book first, and then if I survive the next trip, I could write a sequel.

I never have. I don't hypnotize well, Goddess. Probably because I'm such a control freak. LOL My angel once visited a "practicing" psychic who was a local legend in our town, and was told that she had been a healer of children in a previous life, and had been accused of witchcraft and burned at the stake. Based on my own experience, I can understand how she might have been mistaken for a witch. LOL So I wonder sometimes: Is hellish experience a prerequisite for profound psychic abilities?

And maybe you're a sequel to Janis...or maybe not. I'm curious about the sitar music--I'm going to have a listen, when I get a chance.

You're too kind to me--I guess you haven't noticed my scientific training coming out in some of my posts? But it's hard to disbelieve something that has hit me over the head repeatedly--of course, the hardcore skeptics would like me to believe I'm out of my stinkin' mind. It irks me, so I try to straddle the line between dissector and "true believer," and give grief to both parties. LOL

But it's a pleasure to share with you, too, as someone who clearly knows her way around the spiritual realm, is open to talking about it, and is such a delightful person on top of everything else.

 

there are many ways to do past life exploration without hypnosis - the easiest is to immerse yourself in the study of cultures or eras that you're drawn to and see what comes from that.....it can often unlock past life memories or assistance from guides that will aid us in this knowledge

i feel to know where we're headed, we truly need to examine where we have already been

"hellish experience" is there to strip away the false realities and things we cling to which are truly unimportant in the grand scheme of things

there's also a matter of karma here - when the seeker begins their journey, karma begins to level itself because we are finally accepting responsibility for our actions - once we make it through the hell of our own creation, wrestle our demons in the desert, so to speak, our karma is clear/balanced and we create more positive (hopefully) energies from there

some seekers become embroiled in their own karmic battles, conquered by their own fears, and see the journey as bad or evil and give up altogether - tis a sad thing when this happens, as they've frozen their own evolution

ah yes, i think you do understand ....just as Janis was a sequel for those that came before her

there ya go - Jung was the same way, but after constant "proving" of the things his scientific mind had wonder and skepticism over, he felt he was left no choice but to believe

nothing wrong with scientific training - we're not supposed to go blindly into this, and only the truly faithful doubt .....as the centuries have proven, science and magick are the same thing anyway

very good - my first teacher explained to me the importance of keeping a foot in both worlds..."be in the world, but not of it" - besides, there's a difference between one who questions and dissects because they want to believe and want to know more, and one who questions and dissects because they are fearful and these mental processes keep them "safe"

I see what you're saying and intellectually agree. But sometimes I just think I need to withdraw from the battles and let the wounds heal--and maybe toughen up a bit--or become more flexible, maybe...then again, maybe I'm trying too hard to cling, and just being stubborn...but pain hurts, and sometimes I just feel I can't handle any more.

Often--very, very often--I tell my angel I need a break, and she says mentally, "You win." When she says this, part of me rejoices, and at the same time a deeper part of me feels disappointed. LOL goddammit LOL And she knows I'm not really giving up, but it helps to whine sometimes.

You're a teacher. Do you have correspondence courses? LOL What/how do you teach? I think what I need at this point is someone who is willing to talk--explain and give examples. I just think it's not sufficiently enlightening to be repeatedly struck on the head, if you don't know why it keeps happening.

My current "teacher"--my angel--doesn't talk, and even when she did she was usually cryptic. For her, the experience was the thing, and she gave me lots of it. I say, enough of experience for a while. I say it's time for more intellectual framework.

I could be wrong, of course.

I just wanted to say, please keep practicing this Lunatic3051 because not many people have this gift, though numbers are increasing lately.. I am lucky to be one of those gifted people, but make sure to be protected before you engage in any communications because there are bad spirits and energies up there and some you just don't want to have a talk with, make sure to be fully protected, think of your guardian angel and your guides surrounding you with light and ask to be protected before starting anything.
And yes, like I saw a little earlier in the thread, this gift become more precise with time, and practice. What I learned if you need to have confidence in yourself.
