yeah, but the first time you're late it's suddenly ok for all the other assholes working there to show up whenever they feel like it...

i was kind of hoping to find someone who had the same issue as me. =( it's really hard to explain, and i guess it does make me sound disrespectful and lazy. but really, it's something i've always dealt with for as long as i can remember. my dad's the same way. what's weird with him is he's a retired army colonel and was in the service for thirty years. you'd think he'd have punctuality drilled into his skull.

i never thought about this and it sort of worries me. i'm 21 years old. i don't wanna assume i have it, but when being on time is something i find nearly impossible to do, it seems logical.

if it helps, i had a friend in college who pretty much treated deadlines like you describe.

it probably won't help to mention that we haven't spoken in years...

yeah. i've lost a lot of really good friends from high school and such because i just don't get around to talking to them. it's really terrible on my part. i feel extremely guilty about the way i seem to not care, but it's eating me alive. i've got no clue what to do about it either, because in most cases i know it's too late for me to do anything about it.

This is giving your laze lip service.

All you have to do is do it. If you can't do what you say, you need to figure out why. If you know you won't be somewhere, don't say you will, or no one will waste time on you.

It's likely your dad's timing issues are the result of those years in the army having to be on time. You're just grasping for reasons for your own.

Sorry I'm late in getting in on this thread. I was busy messing with other threads when I didn't need to. :)

I'm usually on time for most things in life.

I can say that I prefer people who are predictably late compared with those who are completely unpredictable.

I know a number of people who are always late for something. Most of them are sitting in front of the TV and eating and doing it purposely so that they can be in a frantic rage when it's time to be somewhere. It seems like some sort of psychological thing that gives them a frantic high.
