You could get CDs (maybe a stack of blanks if he burns).... or a gift card to a music store. (I wish I could say record store, but they're moreso widespread these days--when you do find one, you can go insane in there for hours.) My favorite happens to be Plan 9. http://www.plan9music.com/ This is really the only place I buy music at these days unless I absolutely have to go to the dreaded best buy or wherever.
lucky, we dont have a plan9 or any other respectable places to buy music. We've gotta resort to bt.etree and other places on the net
I love archive, bt.etree, nugs, and the like... But you can't get vinyl on those sites. And they can get you pretty much anything you ask for.
yea tahts true. the only place i've found decent vinyl selection even near my area is over 2 hours away :toetap:
this guy at the flea market 5 minutes away from my house always has kick ass records.. most of them are 2 dollars and pretty good.. the really popular ones are from 5-20ish dollaz
screw gift cards to a book store. Get him something he will actually use, a gift card for FOOD!!! I get them all the time and they're awesome. After a long session with some combustible plant material, when everyone is broke and hungry, there's nobody cooler than the guy who whips out $15 in Wendys Bucks. He'll be a hero! And don't limit yourself to fast food. Try to imagine 4 stoned kids in a Starbucks full of yuppies ordering muffins and cookies by the dozen. Ah memories...
There is no fast food within any reachable distance without a car in my town. We're kinda in the country here. But Starbucks, now, that may be an idea - he likes those horrid white coffee things, and though I'm not really pushing the coffee habit on him at this age, it's inevitable in this state that you will be a coffee junkie. He could spend that at the mall, say. And it would be a good stocking stuffer. I'm thinking what I'm going to get him is a comfy chair for his room. He only has his bed to sit on when playing his games or watching the tube. And I think I'm going to get him the moccasins, it's something different. Would most of you like those? Then I'll round out under the tree with a cologne gift pack - Old Spice and some t-shirts. And maybe that MP3 player if I can find it cheap.
well, I don't much coffee, and when I go to starbucks I usally get a tea type drink. But the chair idea sounds really good. Cologune and T-shirts are good idea too. Just make sure you know what he's into so you don't a shirt that he does'nt like. Happens to me all the time. The moccasins are'nt a bad idea but I doubt they'll be put to much use. And you can't go wrong with an MP3 player.
definitely get him a chair a big chair that just looks so comfy you can sleep in it a big yellow armchair with an audoman (sp?) ("otto-man") oh woops, i was just thinking of a chair i once wanted furniture is a unique xmas gift and def. on the moccasins
I really appreciate the feed back, guys! I want to get him some things that he will really enjoy. This is a tough Christmas for him. His real Mom is moving across the country with his 3 baby sisters on Friday. He's at an age where it's hard for him to express that he's going to miss them, but I know he is.
I have an idea to go along with the with the chair thing. Mabey instead of a chair you get him one of those huge 5ft. bean bag chairs. I would love one of those so much.
whatever you get him, throw in a phone card so he can cal long distance and talk to all them if he wants to
