Well I think evolution is a more logical idea than a god. But as to how everything started I have no idea. How is the universe evidence of a higher power?
that's cool as far as christianity, i feel like the bible is just a book with stories about families. it was put together to control the masses. it has been interpreted so many times, who knows what the original story was! ether way, i think the bible (or rather th old testament, i don't really agree with the new) has a lot of important guidleline for how one should live their life. as far as creation. i believe in evolution. but, just because the bible says "it took god 7 days to create the earth blah blah blah" doesn' necessarily mean that as a christian one cannot believe in evolution. because, as i said before the bible has been inerpreted so man times, maybe someone just misinterpreted it. whatever.
well, considering you need at least one molecule to start off with, the chances are incredibly low. the chances of a molecule forming by random is 1 in 10 to the 113th power.[Tract Science Society] putting your faith in a molecule is the same as my faith in God. therefore, respect.
Genesis say's 6 days. God rest on the 7th. [Shouldnt work on Sunday's] micro-evolution has a lot of evidence of existing, and does not conflict with creation, so you're right. however the whole idea of creation and macro-evolution can't co-exist.
Perhaps. I believe the molecule theory though because it was developed by people who are extremely intelligent and don't believe in ideas like walking on water and turning water into wine.
why not? Because it is not possible. Snakes can not speak, bodies can't be ressurected, people can't live inside whales. All those ideas are ridiculous
Just as there is no proof that it does exist. However there is enough proof to support the theory of evolution. Though it is not 100%, atleast there is some kind of tangible evdence. That is why my beliefs stray towards that path
you too could be this way as early as 12 if you wanted to. you can do anything you put your mind to.:cheers2:
i dont have to believe in anything i haven't seen proof of. i dont believe in alien space ships either. or that tupac is still alive. i marvel at the amazing thing we call reality. simply existing is a miracle. perhaps it all was created by 'gods'. but none of those 'gods' have chosen to reveal themselves to me. so i worship none. the act of observance of self and it's surroundings is an act of worship in itself. bowing down and whispering is mental masturbation if one of these gods came on me while i was having a walk in the woods and totally rocked me ( i see it like this: appearance of deity, miracle, instant conversion, 12-minute awesome guitar solo by deity, then total devotion), then maybe i would choose to worship him/her and convert to jewism or whatever. but that hasn't happened yet. doubt it will:cheers2: point invalid. tract science society is a very partial group run buy evangelicals with a very evident bias against science and in favor of a christian worldview. if you're going to cite a source, at least be sure it's a viable source that applies to the real world. im not saying there wasn't something that caused creation but i dont believe its something that has any intention of being worshipped. :cheers2:
love your post NP. I am picturing God, or Allah, or Thor the thunder god coming down and rocking out with a guitar solo this made me laugh, thanks
