daisy, i know which episode you were talking about.lmao. that dad was a trip.

one of the reasons i wear the colors is b/c they have always been my three favorite colors anyways.
dragonvine what you are referring to is called a head shop where i'm from. does the name of the shop have the word rasta in it? if not, how is it a "rastaish" shop? just cuz they sell bongs? not a very good identification on your part.
i can admit i am a bit annoyed and perplexed by white boys that rock the style ignorantly. but, who are you to judge, as a non-rasta yourself, whether he is rasta at heart? it's nunya damn business anyways.

Is it ok to be inspired by the aesthetic of a culture?

where is your backup on this, mr.g? ok, none, that's cuz you're wrong and i guarantee you'll never find any evidence that says "only black people can be rasta".

if this is the case, and they exclude white people from their religion or beliefs or whatever you wanna call it, then they're no better than the white people who they perceived to have caused all their problems...

honestly, if i completely believed the few pieces of info about rastafarianism (that a word?) that i picked up from this thread, i would have absolutely 0 respect for a "true rasta"...

    Epic lulz.

Do you believe that Haile Selassie is the second incarnation of God after Jesus or the Messiah? Do you think that his death is a hoax because he was immortal?

Do you believe that Jesus was black?

Do you want to migrate to Ethiopia?

Do you reject modern society with all of its inventions and inclinations such as the internet?

Do you think that you will live forever in your current body?

Do you actively participate in grounations?

Do you not drink? Do you not eat pork?

I can go on and on and on.

If you've answered "no" to any of these questions, then you're not Rastafari, but simply an uneducated white person and an active part of Babylon.

I don't think there is any need for persecution of someones beliefs (no matter how warped, twisted they may be) unless they attempt to push their beliefs on you. NP, you say you didn't intend for this thread to become another conversation about rastafari but I feel like you only started this thread to start shit with the folks who call themselves rasta.

BTW, I think every religion is a joke, but that's my personal belief. However, if a religion works for someone and makes them happy, makes them live their life as a better person, gives them a sense of purpose in life more power to them. I'm not going to go around trying to tell them that their beliefs suck and point out why.

Well I do rock some marley shirts but thats because I actually do enjoy his music. His style varies from songs of peace and love to songs of hurt and sadness which everyone feels from time to time. Chances Are and Im hurting inside are some great songs as well as Burnin and Lootin and Natural Mystic. I didnt get dreads cause of marley liked him since i was a youngster mainly because of my older sister. He is most well known rasta so I guess most new age people who associate themselves with rastafari associate themselves with Mr Bobby. But I also believe that rasta is something that doesnt just happen. I am not rasta and i never will be I like sipping 40 oz, smoking fat blunts, eating good meat, as well as alot of other things that would be considered against their movement. Most people who claim rasta dont even follow the strict standards of being apart of the movement as it isnt even classified as a religion.

In my opinion I think you need to be born into rasta and can not simply become a follower. You cant simply just wake up and say I think im going to convert to rasta unless you truly believe in it which i find hard to believe. Known some rastas from the Austin area always realy positive towards me evne though I have dreads but in reality white people or hispanic as myself or any other race with dreads is really a negative towards rastas considering they grew them to rebel against the white man so ye. No offense to any so called rastas, if you believe in it than that is your personal choice and isnt affecting me so I dont really care but its just my two cents.

yea its awesome but there's a difference between being inspired and ripping something off. my first post had a pic of some asian kid with a tattoo of africa with a lion's head, perfectly maintained locks and making the sign of the seal of david... wtf? its past the point of funny and into the realm of pathetic

i dont really hate white rastas. its one of those things i like to bash cuz its silly. whoops if i hurt some white people's feelings. hope i didnt offend you vigilante and you can be my e-friend if it makes you feel good :cheers2:

I don't even know what to say to your posts. People don't blame the white man for no reason it is a simply known fact that the "whites" have power. But money equals power a lot of the time in this country so sometimes race is irrevelant. I don't get why you brought up Muslims in your other post? That is completely ridiculous to say since I assume you aren't a practicing Muslim nor have you read what Islam is about?

And yes I do all you mentioned above and still hate the way this country is ran but am I a hyprocrit because I don't have the means to leave the country? Or that I don't have enough power alone to stop the idiocy that America has become? I am at a loss of words.
