i stuck with the study, but i'm about 98% sure i was given a placebo... i missed the dose for a few days and i had no withdrawal symptoms whatsoever, and i never really noticed any major changes in my mood nor any side effects while i was taking it.

in a week or so, there's going to be a follow up, and the option to swtich over to an open label prescription as an extension of the study. i'm still not sure what i want to do with that, chances are i'll try it out though... for some reason lexapro seems a little bit more gentle than most SSRIs, and i'd feel more comfortable taking it than i would zoloft or prozac, though i can't really say why i feel this way.

but i mean, do you notice any difference when you're on it as opposed to not taking it? even small things like getting dizzy a bit easier, etc.

the study did include the possibility of a placebo, and i'm pretty sure that's what i got... and if i didn't, then the medication just didn't work at all.

hmm that's really interesting to hear, the first few days i was taking it i thought i could notice a difference but after a while i felt like i went back to normal, so i assumed the initial change was a placebo reaction.

maybe it actually was active medication, and i just was lucky enough to not have any side effects. if that was the case, though, it didn't really help after the first 3-4 days or so. i'll probably switch to open label so i know for sure, i've been considering anyway.
