i can't imagine why it would be insulting at all. it's just women making a living. and they're more likely to use a condom than a girl you pick up at a bar. did you use a condom every time, penny? were you ever cheated on? you ever cheat on a boyfriend? you ever have a boyfriend financially support you? i don't see a whole lotta difference.

 

Hypothetically, I have no moral problems with prostitution.

Practically though, I have strong moral opposition to prostitution that commonly looks likes sex slavery. I believe legalization would help somewhat with prostitutes perhaps having more adequate legal protection against pimps and customers.

you do a lot of rationalizing, penny. cheating is cheating, even if it isn't a "serious" relationship. how many have you had? how many times have guys bought you drinks, supplied your coke, bought you dinner? you suck a dick with a condom on during all those relationships? you never step outta line when you're on drugs or drunk? the only difference i see is that prostitutes have no illusion of relationships to justify the usage of their body.

i think prostitution should be legal and that prostitutes should be protected and regulated.

 

I guess if we're seriously talking about prostitution, it's important to recognize that there's an enormous range of prostitutes. There are call girls who choose their profession, make good money, are safe and are comfortable with their decisions; there are children who are forced to endure the worst nightmare imaginable; and there's every shade in between.

Similarly, there are infinite reasons to visit a prostitute and some of them are fine with me, while some are deeply evil. I know some couples hire an escort for their first threesome, which seems fine.

There's a woman on this forum (I remember from a ways back) who's the former kind of escort, and she seems like a nice, sensible, intelligent person. I wouldn't presume to judge her. There are also people in awful situations who need help, and men who take advantage of them.
