Took me forever, but I finally finished that carton. I am on day one of not smoking. I broke and bummed a cigarette last night, so I have to start over. I have not had a cigarette since 10:30 last night. 5 hours isn't much. But just getting the count started. Hope to make it. I was told after the first week I'll be fine. The first week is the hardest, so I'll just push myself that far. Want to be free.
I didn't pick you (or odon) for smokers You can do this. It is not as hard as people say it is. Like you said, don't think "never". Every cigarette you don't smoke in your lifetime is like 50c more in your pocket (in Australia, anyway), and much better for your health. I tried 2 months ago and only failed because I relapsed and decided I had failed. You never fail. Like nesta said, just keep doin' it. Stay strong. It's only smoke that goes in your lungs. :ack2: Who needs that shit?
Thank you for your support. It'll be hard. But I just keep reminding myself that I am the one in complete control here. I'm the only one that can cause me to fail. Good thing I have so much pride. I can't go and tell a bunch of people that I'm going to quit and then fail. This is an instance where caring what people think can be a good thing. lol Deranged, you should totally do it. Once I decided to quit, I just wanted it over with. I was wishing that I hadn't bought the carton and just a few packs. But I couldn't throw away what was left, not after how much they cost. But, now I'm done and one my way to healthier living.
Cherea - is it easier for you after two weeks? Or are you one of those people that was able to quit with no problem?
Today was the hardest day I've had since the third or fourth day. I seriously thought I was going mad, and the world was caving into the mouth of a brown monster. But I got drunk so now I'm ok.
