Racism still exists

How about the Argentina, Boliva, French, US, Cuba, Guatemala, Spanish and Russian revolutions? Sure it is a mix bag of outcomes but the list atleast proves that no state is too powerful to smash.

Also how about the labour movement of 1934 to 1938 that used extreme methods and they were able to make lots of change for such a short time frame.

As for working within the system do you think the system will let you replace it with something completly different? Do you think they will let you bring real equality? Even they did just smashing the system would save decades of oppression.

 

Spanish revolution? What ARE you talking about? The state killed the republicanos (the Spanish version of Socialists and liberals) at the time and instated a fascist rule for 50 years.

Have you ever lived in the South? I live in Georgia in a county that once had KKK members boast that no black person would ever live here. There's not many now, granted, but there is a rising population and there is absolutely no "police brutality". If anything, there's police brutality against the poor whites and Mexicans.

This is the point, when looking at the whole picture you have the same old society. Just look at the goverments oppression of Arabs under the banner of "war on terrorism". Don't forget about the fact the US prison population is about 2 million and climbing. Yes there are some notable victories yet things in general are getting worse not better.

 

In every one of those revolutions the state was inflexible and the people were desperately poor. Not so in America, where changes can be made, dissent is tolerated and even the poor are well off compared with the third world. People don't fight revolutions on a full stomach.

 

America is only flexible when it comes to surface changes, for real change the US is just as inflexible as any nation. For example the US goverment would rather go out fighting to the last day then abandon capitalism and hierarchical goverment in favor for true democracy.

Also de-industrilization and de-militarization are other examples of things that USA goverment will refuse till the destruction of the US goverment.

Also people don't have to hungry to fight revolutions, there is enought deaths due to police oppression to flame the revolutionary spirt of those in ghettos.

 

thank you for pointing this out to me. i made a dumb mistake. progress has been made, and a lot of it. unfotunately, i dont see the racism decreasing with every generation. there is still SO much hatred down here.

It's unfortunately still rather bad in some places. It wasn't a dumb mistake though, just , well, you know what you see around you. It is better in my little town, so I know there has been progress...although if you are around the wrong people you'd never know it. I have a friend from Louisiana that told me once that there is still a bar, or restaurant or something where she's from there, that has a sign up in the window that says whites only. Of course in most other places, this would be totally unacceptable, but somehow there, they get away with it. It's going to take some time, and change starts within and at home. You obviously aren't racist, and you could influence some people you meet y'know? I had a great friend all through highschool who was noticeably scared of black men just because they were black. She'd shrink back if a black guy came up to talk to her. Even if she'd known him for quite a while. Her parents are soooooo racist it's not even funny, and she was actually doing good for being raised the way she was lol. But anyway, I know I, amongst other influences, had an affect on her, because no other friend in our little group would say anything to her about it, but I would get into debates with her all the time about it. Our first year of college, we were hanging out one day and she was talking about a guy she was attracted to, and she quietly slipped in that he was black...and I was SOOOOOOO proud lol. She's a bitch now due to other things lol, but at least I got to see that happen, and it made me happy to think that our time together could have had that influence on her. I still haven't happened to see the homophobe slip out of her yet, but I did manage to convince my best friend that it is ok...hehe. Anyway, you shape everyone you meet, some way or another. So don't be too down about the racism you see around you. Just be open and honest, and nice, about your non-racism , and hope that you can spark a change in someone

In the 50's you could say the thing, the 30's are over and people in the US won't again rebel yet the 60's came and rebellion really exploaded again.

You don't know, the next big movement could start outside the USA and like the 30's know no boundry.

A perverted reaction to Yellow Vietnamese and Black Americans questioning, in the '60s and '70s, the hither-to unquestioned domination of the White Race.

Thus, those who understand Hierarchical Sexual Impulses of insecure Primates were not suprised by either Ronald Regan or our conveniently 'rediscovered' Christianity.

In our competitive Hierarchy, education is simply one more tool to enhance our sexual status within our Hierarchy.

Part of Racism is sexuality...
I can see how some white parents wouldn't want their daughter dating a black fellow... The mom knows how much trauma such a relationship can cause her princess... and how it can result in burning crosses on their lawn, rocks flung through their $1000 picture window, their garage torched, and vehicle tracks through their landscaping, etc...
But all that crap isn't really sexuality... it's just racism...

When I think of racism, I think of the United States...
In my visits to the States from Canada, I saw a liitle of how racism works on both sides there...
In Buffalo NewYork, I stopped at a gas station for a fill up, and a pee... The washroom was spotless... The gas station had a little attached snackbar, so I had a burger... After finishing my meal, I needed to wash my hands, and brush my teeth... I went to that spotless washroom... Two 20's black males were exiting the little room... The toilet, floor, and walls were dripping with piss, the toilet was plugged with a roll of toilet paper, the sink had shit in it, and on the mirror and on the walls...

Another year I was in the middle of downtown Detroit, on my way to the airport, just wasting a few hours... A huge black dude made a bee line for me criscrossing the street from a block away... I was carrying three cases...
I sensed he was about to mug me, so I ducked into a restaurant, and ordered a meal... I heard the black chef hork into my meal... and his assistant complain about his indescreation... I walked out...

Another time in Buffalo NY, I was driving the country roads on my way to a party... I could smell strong solvents on the highway... In a few minutes I approached a tiny tanker truck... The blackman driver parked fast, and jumped out, ran to the back of his truck, and shut off the dripping valve... He was dumping toxic wastes in the countryside... All the rural roads were streaked with rainbows of colors of smelly dumped toxic wastes...

That's just three, of over fifty such experiences.... I don't see any sexuality in any of that...

I still don't see how being aganst hate and evil is racism...?

Racism is stupid, because usually is based on ignorance of the other or in generalising the sins of ones to their whole kind. But, sometimes is quite hard not to be racist. We have around here two millions Gypsies. Among them 70% are unemployed, many are not going to school, many have no idea of hygene. Too many Gypsies are doing all sort of illegal things or just sitting home and drinking while their many children are sent to bag to support their lazy parents. And not all are poor. No, there are an important number of reach Gypsies, having the best cars, tones of gold and really, really ugly but huge palaces, and who didn't pay an income tax in their life. More then half of those who in the '90s thrashed Romania's image in Western Europe were actualy Gypsies. And there are people trying to help them integrate, but it's tough. Even a respectable Gypsy NGO leader, after a conference with some Gypsy families, discovered his bag with some of the NGO's money inside was missing.
So, you see, racism is a complicated thing. Because racism makes the minority life tough and pushes it to deviation, but mass deviation generates racism.
I was talking about Gypsies and I know Gypsies who are integrated and OK. But there are so many on the other side... I try not to be racist, but, believe me, it's not so easy always.

 

We have some of those European Gypsies here in Canada too, and they are exactly as you describe... Many of them are in our country's jails now...
The ones I knew about, were smashing a beefed up vehicle into store fronts, in the night, stealing everything they could grab in a couple minutes, then racing away in their three muscle cars...

Their MO was that they would gain permission of a shop owner to park their travel trailer in his back lot, and they would use that as a homebase for their crime rampage... Then as the last hit before they would move to a new homebase, they would rob that store, by smashing in the rear doors...
Then they move to another location, town or city, as they cross the country...

I got a lot of $work from their crime spree, by store owners hiring me to repair their smashed doors, and to install window bars and security cage doors... Eventually I put it all together, from seeing similarities in the damages to several stores... And eventually I found those buggers homebase... and watched them from a half block away for a couple hours...
I believe they don't have the slightest clue that they are doing wrong... I got the sense that it was a way of life for them...
That particular crime family crime crew are all in prison today... and my repairing store doors business has dropped to zero calls...

It doesn't make me prejudice toward Gypsies, it just makes me extremely cautious toward Gypsies... In some eyes that would be considered to be "racist"... If my cautions are dirty racist, then so be it, I'm a dirty racist...
