If that was supposed to be funny, not even close. If not, I feel sorry for you. If I knew anything like that was part of my family history, I would do all I could to make sure my descendents were totally accepting of all ethnic groups as equals and friends.
Now, if you will excuse me, your lynching reference has made me nauseous, and I have to go puke.

Ya know I have a friend from Sweeden and he told me that he never knew what words such as ******, spic, and wasp were till he moved to the US. Now days it seems like the word for ****** lover is substituted with the word wigger. Personally I think that there is no nice way to call someone a wigger, ****** lover, uncle tom, ******, spic, honky, or wasp. I don't give a fuck what american culture says. If someone uses these words around me I'll knock their teeth out.

Breaking news: racism will always exist because human beings are by nature prejudiced and intolerant.

Where different groups live in the same area there will be a competition for resources, and when there is a competition for resources tensions break out. People, whatever their race, have a tendency to form in-groups and to see or treat others as inferior.

What started this thread was an incident in which a teacher said the "n-word" because a girl was going with a Black to a prom. Outrage by those opposed to racism is understandable, but if you look at the responses there were suggestions to the effect that the resources of the state should be used to punish this teacher. So, what I notice with many leftists is that they want to use the government (state) to enforce multiculturalism. What is ultimately worse, though, racist incidents as described above or government tyranny in which people's thoughts and behaviors are monitored by the state (what is often termed "political correctness")?

It is a difficult situation, especially for those who want to eradicate racism (it depends on your system of values).

My view is that racism will always exist. We have come a long way if the cause for outrage is the use of the "n-word," as opposed to people being sent to concentration camps. 50 years ago a Black and a White girl going to a prom together would have been unthinkable. In some cultures a girl can get killed for such behavior.

Perhaps a solution to racism might be the creation of homogeneous or relatively more homogeneous societies for those who wish to preserve their culture and ethnicity?

I know, there will be outrage at these suggestions, but they are consistent with a libertarian (anti-statist) perspective.
