I want to be clear....my daughter is a sweetheart and not a pain in the ass 95% of the time. She has her moments though.

My daughter Mia, when she was about 16, her and I got into one of those circle arguments. I said to her why do you have to make an issue out of such silly little things. Her answer was we were not suppose to see eye to eye at this stage in life but we would again once she grew up. :)

    Little bugger was right. :)

We aren't to that point yet.....thankfully. Mostly....it's my wife and daughter bickering. They aren't even mad or arguing. It's just a thing they do sometimes but neither do it to me so I mostly just ignore it. But there are times she will go to her room and slam the door because she didn't get her way. So far she doesn't really challenge me. If dad has to get involved....the argument is over.

We have a "no technology at the table rule" and the other day we were all out to dinner and she brought a friend along. She kept picking up her Ipod (or whatever the hell that thing is) and doing this or that with it. My wife told her twice to put it away. She actually rolled her eyes once and was still messing with it. That will not fly. I didn't want to embarrass her in front of her friend so I was hoping she would just put it down. After the second time, I looked at her and said "I'm pretty sure you didn't just forget the English language". Ipod was put away.

Nothing going on here. It's blissfully quiet. Hubby is romancing the bathroom because he had to start the prep for his colonscopy tomorrow.

Here's a little random fact....in fact...it should be a PSA: "Ginormous"? It's not a fucking word and should be avoided by any news organization that expects to be taken more seriously than the Ringling Brothers standard of credibility that is the current norm.

That being said, my "spell check" accepted it so I think it's obvious that some tech firms actually do hire you if you get a degree from the University Of Phoenix.

Ain't is also in (some) dictionaries...that still doesn't make it a word that ANY kind of professional should use. :)

Edit: well a professional "working girl" could probably use it and their johns, I mean "clients" most likely wouldn't note they weren't using proper English. :D

    No doubt...

anyways, you can't say it's not a word if it's in the dictionary, or haven't you ever played scrabble? As far as TV news using that word, if they use the word "it's" or "for" or just about any other word they should be suspect.

I am actually almost unbeatable at Scrabble...if I do say so myself. At least with the people I play with. :)

I should say...my dad was a Scrabble master who kicked my ass...for years. He was never easy on me. He destroyed me. I eventually was able to hang with him a win sometimes. But then when he got sick and started going downhill...even though we mostly couldn't see it at the time....I could see it because of our Scrabble games. He was missing a lot of moves that he never would have missed before. It wasn't something I shared with the family but it was something that told me we had moved into a different era. There was no way that I should have been able to beat him like I was. He put up a good front but I knew right away as soon as I was beating him like that....and I was right.
