Got my line trimming done before the heat of the day... On to other stuff now. At some point I need to pot up a Bonsai I'm starting. Yesterday I got three ferns re-potted. Still have to clean up that mess.... May as well do the Bonsai first.


Bit by bit the older Cub Cadet get's little pieces worked on... I do this in my time off, of which I have none.

 

sold the trailer frame of the water and mouse infested 5th wheel camper i had parted out and cut up last fall

ended up being well worth the effort ..got way more than i actually expected anyone to pay



guy even paid me extra to remove the complete electric slideout mechanism ...i would have done it for free because it has potential for so many other uses but he offered money so i said yep

 

You guys... I saw a lawn tractor and implements on my local "buy, sell, or trade" spot and I was like

"Ooooh, I've got to share this with the guys!"

Sometimes, I forget you only live in my head and not in my neighborhood.

i just missed a rather large car accident by about a minute

looks like a truck either lost his brakes or wasnt paying attention and smashed full speed into the rear of at least 2 cars stopped at a red light

bud of mine works for empire carpeting and brings all the remnants home on his trailer. if it dont rains sometimes get some good carpet but sometimes not enough. but this time I got this pretty suntan 8x8 and I surrounded it with white of same texture. now Im loving the two toned instead of all the solid i have in other places. other problem is dog thinks its still ok to pee, not today because I bought a few her feeding bowls and placed them in the areas she pees. now the bowls are in her way and she thinks this must be my dinning table she might be less likely to pee .. if these asshole contruction people dont soon gtfo .. dont really care about the carpet all that much cause I can get much more whenever I want. shitty house like this still ripping this out and that out.. carpet dont last very long.. the underlayments I put down will come up easier the next time if I have to. ideally I just want to durabond the all the floors and put down composite flooring ..

 

I just got the notification from the quote and assumed it was something I said. But I say all kinds of shit that I may not say or say differently later....even some rants that I wish I could "unrant" later. Whatever it was....I might have had it coming.

 

Went out to the lake this afternoon since it was just me and my daughter. I didn't want my wife to have to come pick us up down river and take me back to my Jeep. It was hot and windy out there today but still relaxing. We just floated in and out of the coves and rode the wakes from the bigger boats passing by. It's good experience for her. I let one hit us on the side on purpose. She screamed but then realized we weren't going to tip over. I told her she should feel what it's like to kayak on the ocean. That's fun!

But...weekend #2 with the tandem kayak and we've been using the hell out of it so far. At the same time.....I haven't gone out boating with my friends at all since we got this boat. Just me and the girls between this boat and our other one.

Well, the job I sat down and cried about, when I saw it looming large before me, has not killed me. In fact, I've pretty much kicked it's ass!

I've got all of the carpet and pad out in the dumpsters ready for trash pick up tomorrow, except for under the bed and in the closet.

I don't know if I'll take the bed apart and get that out tonight or if I'll wait for morning to do it. I'll probably wait for morning and put it in one of the trash bins after they are emptied.

The sub-floor is drying but it's a slow process. I'm in no hurry other than wanting it to dry out and not mildew.

I'm almost finished and, again, I fucking ROCK!!!

Yes, I've got fans on it.

 

Cobbled together a mounting system to put the RanchKing Pro hood and grill on the YardMachines mower, which is the one that caught fire and melted. It actually doesn't look that bad except the decals don't make any sense. I could come up with some trimming that made it fit better and just remove all the decals. It's all kinda faded black paint, tractor and new hood so it's gonna look like another ratrod...



I feel a trend coming on. lol

 

Something occurred to me today about my town that I never really thought much about but...that's probably because I live here and I'm used to being here.

I was passing some people in tubes on the river yesterday...we had the usual small talk in passing. The guy said "How's it going?" I said "It's Saturday, we're staying on top of the water and drinking some beer!" He said "It's not like we have anything better to do around here!" Well....that's not really true. We have lots of thing to do around here but the water is almost ingrained in us. Most of us probably don't think much about it. We don't live right on the river but we live on the high ground just east of it. Our town has about 13k people and every road to the west immediately drops into the river valley. We also have numerous lakes very close to us. We live within 5 minutes of the river, 10 minutes of various decent sized lakes and about 20-30 minutes from major lakes in our area. Many of us have boats. I now have 4 boats. (My kayaks and my fishing boats)

So today, I was driving downtown and I saw the trucks with boats on trailers, the SUVs with kayaks on top of them, pick-up trucks with tubes in the back...and it kind of hit me that we totally take this area for granted. This is just how it is here. Of course we will go out on the water and boat or fish. But then part of me wants to move to a place where there isn't any water and I just don't think I can do that. Why would I ever leave this place?

Anyway...just a passing thought about small town life. I don't think I've posted much about the water here until recently but that's mostly because it's almost not worth mentioning.....like...yeah...of course we're going out. Many of us have been doing it since we were kids.
