Piles of bricks are for a proposed planter against that wall... Still not sure if that's what's going to happen there

    Okay... The "easy tree".

Wasn't really easy but in comparison to the others I need to bring down, piece of cake...

Except for that last little bit. :dizzy2:

Limb on the right had to miss the Oak, Spruce and Pine....

Did clip a few Oak leaves...

The piece on the left had to miss these evergreens. Just....

And of course the fence.... Here's from the other side... There is also a Magnolia behind me, had to miss that and that was downhill lean.

The freaky bit is... In that first photo the trunk is cut all the way through. It moved slightly, I got the saw out and then it just sat right back down again. I hate it when that happens.

I had to pull it down with the WoodRat... "Good WoodRat... Good Boy"

I'll cut it up and haul it to the wood prep area some other day.

I like your little monoliths, Ty; and the grass and trees are so green! We're burning up here. My lawn is brown and crunchy.

Technically, a rope should be company policy everywhere...even if you don't need it. It's the safest bet as long as guys don't get too excited and snap the rope. And as long as they aren't idiots. Sometimes you can gives guys enough rope to hang themselves...literally.

Check this shit out. These dudes got fucked up. Replay in slow motion at about :20. This would never happen on one of my job sites because I'm way too much of a stickler about safety. I can even be an asshole about it because I want shit drilled into their heads. Every single time I see a rope not laid out properly or a tool left somewhere it shouldn't be...I say something about it. Not even something mean but I point out the mistake because little mistakes lead to big ones.

I couldn't see how they had the rope laid out in that video but this situation was nothing like that... Just a little tug after the fact.

Most people have know idea how much trees weigh...

I wasn't really comparing that to you at all. Just showing how some "pros" do their jobs. Ropes are great...or very terrible in the wrong hands. I think you were smart to put a rope in it. Why not take a few extra minutes to be safe? But a wedge is nice when something sits back...as long as you don't break the hinge with it. As safe as I am...I don't always use a rope but it should probably be the rule. But if I'm not there....a rope is the rule.
