It's not like that with beef around here, a small 2" thick steak costs more that a whole Pot Roast. On the grill the Pot Roast tastes better too.

Actually, I'm looking forward to it. It's always fun to teach the young ones to drive.

OMG! I'd need that prescription you spoke of on the last page, as well as a permanent (for a while) appt with a near-by psychiatrist.

Bless you...you MUST have not only nerves of steel but an infinite amount of patience.

Life has forced me to gain (some) patience...but I think my nerves might be made of spider web sometimes. :D

Two lift vehicles, (one bucket truck, and one 4wd whatevertheyarecalled) a chipper and 5 guys.... 6 trees.

    In excess of $3000.00

I obviously haven't seen the trees but I assume the second aerial unit is a crane (or possibly a clam...has to be one or the other if it isn't a bucket). If it's an all day job for that many guys (without a crane or clam)....I'd say the price looks reasonable for my area. If they bring a crane, that makes things go faster but it doesn't make the job cheaper because it also costs money to bring in the crane.

In my area...a bucket, chipper and 2-3 guys should be knocking down around $1500-$1800 for an all-day job. Throw in 2-3 more guys, the crane, etc. I don't think it's too far out there. It's an expensive business to be in if you're legal. Lot's of guys aren't.

That's basically just another bucket. If the job takes 6-7 hrs plus drive time with 5 guys and 2 buckets...I hate to say it but it sounds pretty fair. This is why I'm always saying I don't charge my friends for tree work. :)

If it takes them 3 hours without a crane....it's highway robbery.

There's no way anybody could do this in 3 hours without dynamite....

They are going to clean up too, chip the small stuff, and leave the wood in chunks, (I do the final firewood processing) and they will dump the chips where I want them when done.

I realize it's probably priced right and the guys are licensed but it's still holymotheroffuck expensive...

It makes falling off a ladder with a saw in hand seem reasonable.
