If I could roll back to 1974, where my backyard had a pond and frogs, I would ..

remember that $20 mower that wouldnt start because the guys wife forgot to turn on the fuel?...it also had a broken blade mount (cost $13 to fix)

just sold it for $250....the guy didnt even try to offer to less because they currently sell for over $400 new and this one still looked (and ran) like brand new

buyer interupted my lunch at the lake but it was worth coming home for

I've got thousands of these tiny frogs all over this place... they are only about 1/2 long.

I do still want a small pond in my back yard, but I'd need a front end loader and backhoe to dig it. ...

I can only say so much for the first real day in class. The instructor is nice, as far as I can tell he wont be talking about baseball season.. everything is very serious. but hes not an asshole when you ask him something you dont understand. But the best is I get paid to be there. Im not paying them to learn on my own.

So I go to the local food mart and in the check out line in front of me is the tiny old lady. Mid 80s, using a cane...very small woman. She checked out, then I did. She was walking so slow I was right behind her in the parking lot and I was worried she was going to make it to her car. Then I see her car. It was a huge, gold hummer. She had to climb up in it...then she drove away.

    That's all I got.

    lol

I met a lady today who lives in a rural area, she's recently divorced with young kids, must have about as much to mow as Tyrsonswood and she is way behind because her mower is garbage. She's been trying to find a used push mower just to try to stay on top of whats near the house. She seemed pretty overwhelmed with the property now that she's by herself.

I told her that I have a friend who works at a place where she could get a badass commercial mower for dirt cheap if she could find someone to rebuild the engine. This is a Gravely with a 60 inch deck. It costs about $12,000 or so new. It's a steal. It would be perfect and they basically just want to get rid of it. But she doesn't have the money to do it or anyone to work on it. Bummer.

So after I left...it hit me....this shouldn't have to be such an impossible situation. I called my friend after work. He has a meeting with the big boss tomorrow (who is a very kind man) and is pretty sure he can get him to just donate the mower to the cause. I will pay for parts and materials and we have another friend who works on this kind of stuff for a living. We're going to try to get him on the bus this evening and by this time tomorrow...we will know if we're going to be able to give this lady a very big surprise.

This could be pretty awesome and it's worth doing just for the sake of doing it. Fun stuff! :)

If anyone cares to read my latest chapter of bullshit....I will title this "Yes....I'm a prick sometimes!"

My brother actually called me out of the blue tonight...I'll let you guys be the judge of exactly how much of a prick I was. You can't make this shit up.

Him: Hey! I heard about grandpa...what's up?
    Me: He's dying.
    Him: How's he doing?
Me: Well...not real well. It will be any day now. Who knows?
Him: Tell him I said I love him.
Me: (trying not to go off on him) Yeah...I'll try to remember to do that for you.
Him: Where is mom living now?
    Me: Back in the city.
    Him: Nobody tells me anything.
Me: I'm pretty sure she's tried to call you at least three times and you haven't wanted to talk to her at all.
Him: She calls me with bullshit pretenses. When has she ever called me to ask how my wedding went? Or about something that matters?
Me: You must mean the wedding she was told she wasn't welcome to attend.
Him: I'm trying to figure out a way to work it out...
Me: Great! I hope your timing works out a little better than it did with grandpa! By the way...he asked me about you two days ago.

I feel bad about my last rant. I don't even mean for this to be a rant but I just can't believe we had that conversation tonight. I'm not even a little mad about it right now. He has to live his life...not me.
