Meanwhile, somewhere in Ohio....

 

I pulled 2 planks of the front steps...the easiest 2....replaced them easy with red cedar...a single 2x12 red cedar plank is 26 dollars.....I wasn't expecting that....no wonder the guy did the back deck in 1 x 6

the stair joists aren't great but I am reinforcing them with a tacked on piece to the sides

I took The Mother to the hearing aide dr today...she had LOTS of ear wax. But good night alive, so what, I think...

UNTIL we were told he doesn't get out ear wax. WTH?!? A hearing aide dr doesn't get wax out of people's ears and they don't think to TELL someone this before their appt :devil: ...alrighty then...AND despite having an appt we had to wait almost an hour for this jackass to see us.

THEN they suggest we go to the ER (yes, the emergency room - "they will do that there" hearing aide dr says) or to her "primary care physician". Her primary care physician is a vitamin catalogue, even tho she has medicare plus a supplement.

Anyway, then we go to this place that I also go to that takes walk-ins. They wouldn't even do it...but apparently even tho' the fucking hearing aide people couldn't tell us it was so thick and impacted AFTER looking in her ear that a Ear, Nose & Throat specialist would have to do it the walk-in dr place was able to impart this information. Good for us, after sitting in the 2nd doctor's office for almost 2 hours, they were even able to make an appt for us with the Ear Nose & Throat person.

I believe I'm going to encourage seeking another hearing aide doctor.

 

They had this pic on the evening news. They called it a redneck infinity pool.

I had to have wax cleared out of my ears several years ago. They did it at my doctor's office. They used something like a water pic. Amazing how better my hearing was after that.

 

you have to put a drop of mineral oil into each ear the previous 2 nigts before the apt or it will likely hurt a bit....my doctor just sent me home for the mineral oil first and said come back next week.....you may want to call the ent doc and ask about that...save yourself a trip

That's an excellent idea...I'm going to do just that!

I'm tired of us not being told anything when they Should and Could have been telling us stuff that would #1 make this process faster and #2 make it less painful. I'm already wary about her moving her head at just the wrong time.

then when im happy theyre nice and clean i dab some baby oil on a Qtip and send that in there

 

I had that done a few times when I was a kid. Hurt like hell.

 

My grandpa died this evening. He was in no pain and passed while sleeping. He had a long, happy life for the most part. Funny thing he once told me after one of his exes died....."I was trying to have enough ex-wives that they could be my pallbearers but they keep dying off too fast!" Maybe you had to be there.

One little fact that I guess doesn't really mean anything.....he died without having ever heard me utter a single swear word...ever. I never even accidentally said "damn". Kind of funny, considering....you guys read what I type and I type like I talk. I'm not exactly someone known for restraint in expression.
