Thanks guys. I'm glad it all happened the way it did and that my mom got to make it back in time to see him. As of the moment, my mom isn't even hysterical. She's holding up a lot better than I expected her to but she had some time to come to terms with it and we had quite a talk last night and I was able to help her get her head in the right place and be prepared.

On a lighter note.....my bands music festival is Saturday so we were out setting lots of stuff up tonight. I'm taking tomorrow off to keep working out there. I'm told we should expect more people than ever again this year. It gets bigger each year.

    So sorry Wiz. [IMG]

Your grandpa was also very comforted by your frequent vists and presence, I'm quite sure.

I think to pass to the other side in one's sleep is the most/greatest thing any of us could ask for. :)

RF: My mower no longer has a hood or front grille... So it's kinda like a seat on a lawnmower with an engine.

Wiz, sorry to read about the passing of your Granddad. It was really nice though to read your lovely posts on what a great man he was. I hope that beings you comfort as good memories are what makes a life well lived.

Thanks again for the kind thoughts and words. :)

I feel like Tyrsonswood right now. Been mowing all day and it's super hot out today. I don't mind that much though because it's not like I have to do it all the time and I kind of enjoy it because of that. I got the entire camping and parking areas mowed, took a little beer break and then mowed the area around the stage, sound booth, various other booths, bathrooms, etc. The whole fucking thing is now mowed except for our semi-private camping area reserved for our band, band friends and families. We can suffer through a little grass.

Now I'm back home in the AC for a dinner break before the 7 pm sound check on the full system, lights, etc. It's a fun little tradition because we will play for a couple of hours and it ends up being a private show a day before the event for friends and others who have helped put it together. Kind of a celebration to say "We're ready!"....which is never really true because tomorrow from 8 am until the first band starts at noon will be chaos!

    But I'm pretty excited!

actually fuzzy green meat is ok too according to a place i use to work for

you just have to recook it into ground up products with lots of garlic and some lemon flavour...polish sausage is the best way to dump that crap on an uninformed consumer

Tough night. Technical difficulties with the sound system that should have been a lot more simple to fix. Good thing we got it done tonight instead of tomorrow. But then I had my own ongoing issues that pissed me off so much that I actually did something I've never done before...even during a practice. I was so mad that I just set my guitar down mid-song and walked off the stage. With all of those issues and the oppressive heat on stage....I just had enough for that moment. I grabbed a beer, chilled out for a few minutes, turned off the power to everything on my rig and then it was all fine after that. I still don't know what the issue is.

I'm not going to think about it anymore tonight. It's 11:30, I still have to shower and 8 am will come early.

    Good night, guys and gals.

About stepping back and taking a moment when you're working...

When I worked at McD's, it was the 1st timein my ife I've had a job where I wasn't able to step away for even a second and just Take A Moment...it really makes a lot of difference. My heart goes to all people stuck on cash registers everywhere, unable to even step away and take even a moment without people bellowing about what they want NOW.

No matter what you do, a person needs to be able to just step back and take a moment and they need to be able to take a piss also without having to jump through hoops and beg someone to PUHLEEZ come relieve you.

I miss working because I had something to do away from here; but, I see where I'm needed here more than ever.

I'd rather develop character here with my 95 yr old mother tho...I'm able to do this caretaker and house manager job with a glass of wine and firecrackers, too. lol :)

As much as I've put up with throughout the years, I just don't see me ever tolerating someone screaming at me at a job again, like I (and many MANY others) had to deal with. Well, I won't tolerate it but a minute. lol :D Then I'll be the one doing the 'splaining. ;)
