Odd thing about people doing that... it makes me want to light a smoke...

Whoever came up with the idea that showing (or better yet, telling) people what could happen to them if they smoke, would make them quit cracks me up...

Maybe 20 years ago when people were still pretty much isolated besides tv, but these days, if you haven't seen pictures of cancerous lungs, then you just haven't been paying attention...



Years ago, I was sitting in a coffeeshop having a coffee and smoke, next to this table with this older guy, likely in his late 60's... He was sitting there having a coffee and a smoke. This was of course before smoking was banned in public places up here...

Well, he would take a drag on his smoke... cough a little, catch his breath, take a drink of coffee... sit there for a bit, take a drag... cough... and all of the sudden, he goes into a coughing fit...

Not just a little bit of coughing... but I mean a full blown grasp the chair and table, turn blue, choke, cough and gag type thing.... and then this... wad of phlegm, blood, dark flecks and light flecks comes flying out and splooshes on the floor between our tables...

He makes a sorta gasp, catches his breath, sits back... looks around, grabs a napkin to wipe the floor and apologizes...

Then he sits back, takes a sip of coffee, and lights another smoke...

And you know what really sucks? While I sat here typing this, about 1/4 of my cigarette wasted away in the damn ashtray...

 

Can you still smoke in restaurants and places?

 

That inconsiderate bastard.

 

Oh, wait a minute, I guess that makes ME the inconsiderate bastard...well at least I helped you quit for a few minutes.

 

In Boston they even closed down the cigar bars - hell, the only reason people went to those places was to smoke - DUMB.

 

Nope... Not here anyway.

In case it isn't obvious, 'enclosed workplace' means bars, restaurants, cars, private clubs, taxis... etc...

 

I love that law...now I wish they would enforce it better..If I see a bunch of smokers (usually employees) at the entrance to a store I go shop at the competition instead.....maybe its just a city bylaw but Im sure they arent supposed to be smoking anywhere near the door :ack2:

 

We now have butter, normal goat cheese and chevre style in the fridge, and a batch of cheddar hanging....

I moved out of the city a bit ago. I now live in a cute little house in the country, I have a new job and got back to workout. I absolutely love it here! It's calm, the place is beautiful, I can let the pets run around free and grow my own veggies, spices and medicinal plants. Oh yeah.

Earlier, when he was doing the side yard, the memory card was full so I came in to change it.

Nicole had just come downstair when I came in, so I suggested she may want to watch it.

She goes outside, comes back in about 30 seconds and says...

"You wanted me to watch him drop a tree on the car?"
