    Yes.... Yes it is.

Not really though. By time I was in your age range I already had advanced arthritis and degenerative disc disease... Right about then the myalgia began to get worse so basically for me it doesn't matter what I'm doing it hurts all the time.... everywhere. I beat the heck out of this body and it's worn the fug out.

Yeah, I'm a total wreak in the mornings too... But get up around sunrise and get started. Too much to do... Gotta get at it.

    Lovely shot!

And out of focus photographs CAN be really nice. But it depends on the details of course :p

If I see sometimes what people ask for paintings and drawings and also what they get for it at times I seem a fool for not trying to do the same. I would feel kind of pretentious and greedy for asking so much money for a drawing though. But hey, if such pics happen to be 'in' and people are willing to pay it... why shouldn't we ask it :-D
My parents bought a drawing of the inside of an old barn. Done with grey pencils. It cost about 600 euros. Now, the guy who made it is a pro and had an art education and that is supposedly the reason they can ask and get such a price for it, but I can draw like that too. It looks really nice though.

Dang...is this the old person thread? I'm hurtin' too. Got my garden in, beds weeded, mulched, flowers planted and spring cleaning done. I only fell once!

I have some titanium in some body parts from a motorcycle wreck also rollingalong, they ache at times.

I am beginning to realize this property is beginning to be too much for one old lady to take care of. :(

    ouch....

    Two random facts for today....

I tried to watch The Interview because someone told me it was hilarious. It wasn't. I suck at watching movies to begin with and usually fall asleep halfway through. I didn't fall asleep but I only made it about halfway before I turned it off. Not into dumb comedy.

My son was off work for two days this week and we hired a young lady to fill in for him (who has filled in here and there before). So she was with me and we had time to talk about different things. Today, I told my son that I thought she did a fine job and I was pretty sure we got along just fine. He told me she texted him while working and said "I have to tell ya, your dad is fucking awesome! Just sayin'." That made me feel pretty good....especially because I've taken a personal liking to her because she's had such a shitty childhood and she's so smart and obviously capable of overcoming her surroundings. I think she will be fine but it was kind of cool to hear that.

So that was all pretty decent. Aside from the movie.

If someone said something nice about me to my son, I honestly wonder/highly question/doubt if he'd think to tell me.

That probably sounds a little odd to some (ha...see what I did there) but he has never been one to repeat a dang thing - good or bad. Well, he hardly repeats anything.

On the other hand, I most surely repeat too much.

:D I almost used that emo, Glen but it shows 4 people...

and when I say I repeat too much, my poor boy gets the brunt of my repeating. lol

The closest other thing was 2 people arguing, and that wasn't it...I'm about sure he feels I repeat his ears off. :D

Also - let it be noted that ANYTHING said more than one single time (to him) is "repeating". :D which I guess technically it is...but hell, I'm old :wheelchair: and I may well say something more than once, but not LOTS and LOTS of times.

There's a difference between several times (under 5) and LOTS and LOTS. :)

Saying something 5 or under times should not only be expected but called for! :) In that case, I think there ought to be another word to use besides calling it repeating. lol

LOTS and LOTS of times =

I do what I can to make a small difference in this world. Last time she worked for me, she told me about how her car was broke down and how much it would take to fix it. She wasn't asking me for anything. She just told me about a big problem she had. She works nights so working for me during the day is a favor to me and isn't easy on her. There was no way she was going to be be able to afford to fix her car. So I decided to substantially upgrade her pay for that week. When I gave it to her she said 'I think I'm going to cry!" I told her I didn't want her to cry but I wanted her to fix her car. I don't know if there is a God. I hope so but just to be sure...I think it's a good idea to conduct youself as if there is.

I think I might go have some breakfast at the redneck bar this morning and then go to the hardware store and see if they have a metal detector for lumber. The dude that we bought our saw mill from had one that would detect nails, etc. in logs. I want one to use on all of that old flooring I have before I run it through the planer. There were tons of nails and I think I got them all but maybe I can get one of those things just to be on the safe side. In my mind, it should cost maybe $20 so...you know....it will probably cost $75. Not spending $75 for that shit though. $20 or no deal!

Then maybe I can actually get to do some stuff in my new wood shop today. I've only been waiting for about 20 years for a wood shop.

doesnt a stud finder work like a metal detector?..i always thought they actually locate studs by finding nails

The older ones do... not sure about the newer technology types.

When the plate inside the stud finder is over wall board, it will sense one dielectric constant (sort of like an insulating value); but when it is over a stud, the dielectric constant is different. It works on a capacitance differential generated by density difference.
