liking anyone is not required. neither is disliking them. neither is having to do either one.

i have lots of aluminum pans too

its the acid in marinades that reacts

i prefer pyrex bowls for marinating

i love hugs. but i'm too paranoid of being thought a pervert to be the one to initiate them. i'll offer internet hugs though. i feel reasonably safe doing that.

sometimes i hesitate at that too. not knowing how anyone will feel about it.

In the 60's and 70's they thought that cooking in aluminum was causing Alzheimer's. That is a myth by today's science. I don't know about marinating food. I don't think that I have any aluminum pans so I can't address any possible taste difference.

aluminum is a metal that reacts easily with any liquid who's ph is not completely neutral. the resulting products might not cause alsheimer's specificially, but they can't possibly be good for you.

i'm not sure why you'd marinate chicken anyway, other then to infuse it with flavors, which i'm not sure if that's actually called marinating.

other then i like lemon flavored chicken, that doesn't have a whole lot to do with being about me.

the first thing i ever saw in this life, that caught my interest and fascinated me ever since, was a scale model of a trolly car, HO size, on a single track, around a friend of my father's basement.

i don't remember if i've mentioned that here, but just as a wild guess i probably have.

whenever i rode in a bus or in a car, when i was little, i always imagined i was on a train or a trolly, and when i was on a train, i imagined i was riding in or driving a bus or a car. when i was walking i would imagine i was doing one of the three too. did rather a lot of walking when i was grade school age, as my parents never had a car until the year i graduated high school.

Ordered 4 Timken tapered bearings from Autozone for the mower deck. Only one was seriously bad, one was "okay" and the other two were good. The bottom bearings were rust damaged... But while it's apart I'll replace all 4. This gives me spares... I got one at Advance Auto before I went down the street, it was all they had, so I have a new spare also. Gonna have to eBay for the seals though... Auto parts can find a match but they aren't available. "So, it's in your computer but you can't get one?" .... "That's correct, sir"..... "WTF?" I can get the seals from the Cub Cadet dealer but I don't have a first born child...

Also Autozone couldn't order the bearings without a car listed that they were for... WTF?

Anyways... I will shortly have a rebuilt mower deck.

Cool bird pics! I love the birds and we have lots of them around. We have a decent number of feeders and bird houses in the yard.

I've spent a lot of time out in my wood shop this weekend. I already have a number of projects lined up for myself and someone asked me just today to build some things for them. One easy thing to get finished is a cedar board I've had forever (I have a bunch of it actually). It would make a cool bench or coffee table top so I think I'll make the table out of it. It's already sanded. I just have to decide if I want to stain it or just seal it like it is. I did some testing on the bottom side to see what will look best. Then I think I'm going to have a friend weld the legs that I have in mind for it.

The cool thing is....when you mill a log, you usually cut the log into a square first. Then you can cut whatever size boards you want. But you don't have to do it that way. If you have a log with a lot of spots where branches came out of it, you can put it on the mill and just start cutting boards from the top of the log. When you're done, you won't have boards with nice, straight edges. You will have the natural edge of the tree with little stubs from branches, etc. It's pretty cool and that's what this board is. I'll try to find a pic and post it in a bit.

My idea is that this is a little test run. If it works out well, I will cut thicker, wider slabs out of a bunch of cedar logs we have out at the mill. I might be able to make a few bucks off of that. What else are you going to do with those types of logs? They aren't ideal for anything else but they're perfect for sweet bench and table tops.
