Bong cleaner... according to google search.

I've never seen it before, but the 710 is an old joke about seeing the "OIL" fill cap under your hood upside down.

My grandpa is STILL in the hospital! I have been out of the loop a bit because I haven't been able to get in touch with his wife. She hasn't answered the phone for over a week. My next step was going to be to call the hospital but I wasn't sure if they could even tell me anything. It's a bit worrisome because she has some dementia. it's getting worse and she knows it and he's laid up and never calls anyone anyway.

I'm his only family member in the whole state that isn't very elderly and I don't live very close. My mom lives out of state and wants him in at least a rehab nursing home type of situation and thinks his wife should probably be too because of her dementia. She didn't know how to bring it up to them but I do and I did. He will be going into some form of assisted living when he's finally released and his wife said she will go where he goes. I don't think anyone wishes this to happen but he can't/won't take all of his meds on time, get his exercise, etc. His wife says she can handle it but she hasn't done a very good job of that lately and she's very prone to mistakes. I can't be there all the time and...given the conversation I just had with his wife....I'm convinced that she is indeed slipping quite a bit. If my mom can't or won't do what needs to be done....I will have to. Now we'll just have to see if his wife remembers the conversation we just had.

One idea we have is to maybe get them to move to the place in my town. It's brand new and only a few blocks from our house. It would be perfect for them, they can still live in their own place and they would have professionals available. The only problem with that may be my grandpas wife's daughter. I've actually never met her but I've heard she is a very insecure, immature bully who feels the need to challenge and dominate those around her. That came from her own mother while she was totally with it mentally. She will require, not my best anti-bully asshole pose, but possibly my best "PR face" and diplomacy. It helps that we've never met and have no history. She's only a psychological puzzle and I can figure her out. Yeah....I know...it's kind of manipulation but I expect the same from her and the end justifies the means. I think I can win her over.

Wiz, I believe you can handle granddad's step daughter. You're a no bullshit person.

Rolling, they say breast milk will cure pink eye. Maybe you could give it a try.

But then Rolling would have to catch the ferry. I thought he might know some lactating women on the island.

lactating women are my specialty....thank you for the tips.....I will buy the stye oil at the drugstore......I stupidly boarded the ferry to do banking and forgot the cash at home....then lady breaks down on the ferry so I gave her and 2 tiny kids a ride....of course she lived on the opposite side of the island

I've had a day of nice scores. Just got back from picking up a nice, old planer/jointer from my friend who sold me the lathe. Earlier today, I was talking to a customer who has a big dead Oak tree to take down. Given it's condition, I'm expecting the lumber to be spalted (google that...it's beautiful stuff). It's at the edge of his timber (no hardware in it) and I can get two really nice logs from the trunk. He wants the rest for firewood. So the deal is...I'll take it down as a power company job and cut the saw logs, he will transport them to my mill and we will split the lumber evenly. Sweet deal. Spalted Oak isn't easy to come by around here and it's worth quite a bit of money.

But that isn't all. The old guy who owns the neighboring property took me back in his timber. He has 5 or 6 big Oaks in the same condition (dead, probably spalted wood) and one very tall, perfectly straight Hickory that uprooted and is laying precariously in another tree. So I'm going to take care of all of those trees for him next week and he will drag whatever I want of the logs out of the timber and load them for me. Whatever I don't take, he will keep for firewood. He said he also has a big dead Walnut he wants me to take too but I didn't see that one today.

So I'll mill the logs from the first guy and see what they look like. Then I'll let the others sit out at the mill until I build my home kiln this summer. They can sit there for a long time if they have to. It takes forever for Oak to rot into unusable wood and these trees haven't been dead for long enough for that to happen. Plus, the longer I let them sit....the more spalting they should have....I think so anyway.
