Bank was closed when I got there at 5:15 this evening... No deposit today.

 

There's some dead Oak here... I leave them as tree spirit sculpture and it keeps the Pileated Woodpeckers around.





They are about the size of a Crow and normally not seen in this area unless there's a large stand of old woodland. Like my place and the adjoining property.

 

I've heard that we have some of those woodpeckers around here but they are rare and I don't think I've ever seen one.

 

There food source is carpenter ants, but it's gotta be in old dead trees far from homes... Usually. First one I saw was right in my back yard, but nobody had lived here for awhile. I still hear them in the woods though.

 

I see one those woodpecker he was a giant of a bird..

 

gave the dog a nice bath....he is so white....but it loosened his winter coat and its all over the lawn now....filled a good sized bucket brushing him

 

the pileateds around here are much smaller

Odd evening. My wife went out with friends and I was hanging out on the deck. My neighbor came over with a beer and started chatting with me about her bad back (not the new ones to the south or the lady to the north who doesn't like me....one to the southeast....the yards are set up kind of odd). Long story short...we talked for 45 minutes or so about a bunch of stuff and she kind of broke down and hit me out of left field with a story about how...when she was 16, she was tied up, brutally beaten, raped and nearly killed. I was kind of like....um...hmm....think! Say something! Then I thought about what my dad would do and I simply gave her a big hug and told her I was so sorry she had to go through that.

Even typing that out....I'm thinking...wow! Did that really just happen? I don't have a problem with her confiding in me but it was really unexpected and I have no idea why she would tell me that.

bought some zzzquil today to hopefully get a decent night sleep that ive been chasing for months now

 

I've had a tummy ache for hours, days even, finally get that pain to stop and now there are hunger pains. What if I eat something and the stomach ache comes back? Both are painful.
