We don't use the poles for the stage. Our stage is surrounded by walls of scaffolding which a bunch of stuff mounts to and hangs from and the stage is covered. The sound booth is an elevated booth behind the audience...or many of them anyway. So the utility poles run from the stage to the booth. Then there is a bunch of framing and huge tarps cover the whole area. We've been debating on just going all out and upgrading to a solid plywood roof but that would probably be pretty expensive. We don't make any money on these fests at all and we already spend a lot of money to do this as it is. We do them twice a year. All the bands play for free. Camping, parking and anything else is free. Anyone who is peaceful is welcome. It's a fan appreciation thing for all of the bands.

The family has decided to be faux-Satanists. It's funny because none of us believe in Satan. So I worked it out with my wife and daughter.....when one of us puts the horned hand signal in the air and says "Hail Satan!"....the other two of us say "Our almighty dark lord!" It was freakin' hilarious when my sons and my youngest sons girlfriend were over earlier. They were like....what the fuck? But then they all joined in. Jenga became our game to summon the Dark Lord if we got to 20 levels. Googly eyed Jesus watched from the wall. Lots of funny innuendo.

On a less funny note....I went to see the old man today. I brought up him moving near us when he gets out of the hospital. I don't think he seemed against the idea but I honestly don't think it will ultimately be an issue. I think he has a 50/50 chance of even getting out of the hospital at this point. My gut feeling is that he isn't going to live long enough to get out of the hospital. I understand what all those machines do. It's not a good sign.

Got more than 1/2 the grass cut today... Closer to 3/4 of what I mow. Supposed to get rain/thunderstorms all this week. It would have been unmowable if I didn't catch it today. Really only have to get the backyard yet.

Like Ty I Feel My Almost Permanatly Affixed To My Mower.

Yesterday I Set A Personal Best Of 7 1/2 Hours With Only One Brief Fuel Stop.

When I Moved Here Only The House Block Had Been Mown So I Set About Mowing

The Whole 5 Acres, And What A Job It Has Been, Some Of It Was As High As The Fence.

Mowed The Paddock Between The House And Road 7 Times Before Thanks To Some

Rain It Become Beautiful And Green Just Like A Sporting Field,

Then Yesterday I Worked Up The Courage To Give The Next Paddock It's First Cut

And What An Experience That Was, Most Of It Is Steep With The Occasional Fox Hole

Just To Keep Me On My Toes........BUT All My Efforts Over The Past 6 Months Paid

Off Today When A Neighbor Who Drives Past Daily Said The Place Looks Beautiful..... :daisy:

    Cheers Glen.

Got the backyard mowed... It's damn breezy out there. Like 25+ mph with gusts that take tree limbs down. Fun stuff!

But at least I'm done... for now.

I got that "botched" spindle mounted back into the Cub Cadet mower deck, deck is primed and the underside painted. Gotta create a brace system for the front hanger, seeing as I don't have a welder. That area of the deck is under-designed anyways. Then I paint the whole deck again... and again, and again. Yeah! at least 3 coats. I've got a gallon of oil based industrial paint that's close enough to Cub Cadet yellow, it's for Caterpillar equipment... Probably the same thing, Cub stole it from Cat. Then, or at some point in between I rebuild the spindles... I've got all new parts for that.
