Re-soldered the seam on the old Lawn-boy gas tank that was on the WoodRat. (does anybody even know how to do this correctly anymore?) Now I know for sure that a mini-bike/go-kart guy did the original modifications.... That gas tank was THE tank to use back in the day. When I got the tractor the tank was mounted to the hood, so when you opened the hood it stretched the fuel line and the hood needed to be propped so it didn't tear the line. Bad idea. I ended up making a mounting plate/bracket/thingy so the tank mounts to the engine as it should and lines up with the hole in the hood where the gas cap pokes through. This plate I made is thick aluminum, tank will be isolated with ceramic wool batting for heat reasons... Hot fuel=less power. It's starting to look like a true Rat Rod with a 60's go-kart vibe but on an antique tractor chassis.


Still want to mount the air filter opposite from the exhaust stack, just outside the hood on the right side of the tractor. I'll have to fabricate some kind of pipe/tubing to do this... Hmmm... No welder.


WoodRat's gonna be a gas when it's done... Could mount some kind of variable pulley setup so the 3 speed transmission has a 7 speed variator off the engine. Hmmm... a 25 MPH WoodRat that can pull the wheels. Hot Damn!


I still want a 9HP Tecumseh with mods some day... High compression head, ported and polished, bigger Walbro carb... Yeah, all that shyt.

dammit...land bridge here has another hole in it....person just came over and said it is collapsing...to get an engineer....Thank goodness....one of the baseball players Stan plays with is an engineer....so he will be called.

Guy that fixed it the first time...I am angry...no guarantees....? He just put that here only a few years ago after the first one collapsed after Irene or Sandy...one of those two.

ok, Stan...first guy was given thousands of dollars and he was not an engineer in the first place. WHat is wrong with you?
I will not leave it to him again....have to be on top of things every single minute around here, I guess.

 

Iguess I can take comfort now in knowing this baseball player friend is big wig and draws up plans for major bridges and things. I hope he can fit us in soon.
