Guess I should go outside and watch, then...

 

I slept 10 hours last night!

Hubby just woke up. I don't know if he was up during the night, but he was down for 15 hours!

 

I'm getting really excited about my vacation next month! I just ordered a swimsuit!

 

There's that word again... WTF?

 

I remember vacations. However, the last one I took was in 2008.

I can hardly wait!

Went to go see my grandpa...expecting the worst. I should have known better than to listen to his wife and my mom. They made it sound like he's on his death bed. He's isn't that bad but he isn't doing well either. Leave it to them to blow shit out of proportion. They did have the DNR order rescinded but I guess just yesterday he was pissed and asking why they just won't let him die. I had a calm but forward talk with my mom. She was going on and on, pointing fingers at all of the staff, saying they are just wanting to give up, etc. I had to explain to her that the DNR order isn't giving up and the staff is doing what they're trained to do. They aren't emotionally invested, they see this every single day and they probably have a pretty good idea of what will happen in the future. She said he could be revived and moved to a nursing home. I said "So...let's see how this looks....he's saying he thinks he will die, he's asking why they won't just let him die.....so he goes into cardiac arrest or something and then they bring him back....so you can move him to a nursing home? He's made his wishes clear."

See? That kind of shit is selfish. It's not that I don't feel her pain but you can't keep him alive for us. That all being said, he did tell me today that he hopes to go to the nursing home in a few days. I hope he does get to the nursing home. The move will be hard on him but it might boost his spirits and a change of scenery may do him good. But my mom and his wife need to understand that in the event something does happen....the chances of bringing him back at a nursing home are much lower than at a hospital.

 

That's no fun to deal with, Wiz. I hope the highest good comes out of it, for your grandfather.

 

Next wave of storm is going to the north... We got drenched a few hours ago though.

 

One thing that's interesting to me....in regards to my grandpa but also aside from that whole situation.....there are many people who are very devout in their religion. They love telling people how much god loves us, god has a plan, everything will be ok if we leave it in gods hands, etc, etc, etc....................etc. But then, when something happens that they don't like or don't want to have happen...then it must be some sort of mistake and they have to try to change the outcome or....pray to god to fix the situation. They were so devout and trusted the plan.....until they didn't like the outcome.

 

this world would be so much better if there was no religion

 

any one else see that news story about Georgia?....some kind of freak rainstorm washed out the main city and the zoo animals that survived are running around free and scared....tigers and bears loose in the city

even a hippo but they caught it quick

its kind of funny from a faraway perspective...
