todays fathers day.....might track down the teenager and get some breakfast in the city

 

Kid comes home this morning, tells me about getting a ticket yesterday for possession of a pot pipe, court date, etc. And after all of that, ends with "Oh...Happy Fathers Day!"

Of course, I will help him beat the charge. If his story is true, he never should have been charged to begin with. At the same time, I basically told him that he put himself in exactly the same position that I've been fucking telling him to avoid...for years! I have a short phrase....."Stay bullet-proof!" He was like "Well...they said the reason I got charged...." Stop. The reason you got charged is because you weren't bullet-proof and you put yourself in the position to be charged...regardless of whether or not the charge is warranted.

skies opened up and it poured torrential for all of about..4 minutes?.......

 

We had one of those yesterday, Rolling, but later we had a proper length storm.

 

I'm sure it will be fine. I just reread my post from earlier...I hope I didn't come across as being mad about it. Live and learn, dude. The driver never should have consented to the search. My younger son was in the car too but he didn't get in any trouble. It was his car and his GF was driving (she was charged with having a scale and nothing else). So the pipe was in a pouch on the seat...the owner of the car AND the driver of the car aren't charged with it....but a passenger without physical possession of it is charged? And having a scale isn't illegal when you have no other charge to tie it to. Both of these charges should be pretty easy to beat.

It's like the cops just want to hand out fines to these kids to generate revenue and think they will just plea to get it over with. I don't know what the driver will do but my son is going to fight it. How much work do they want to do to get a conviction on this silly ass shit? I intend to make sure it's a lot of work.

Went to see the old man today. He's doing better. Played a bean-bag toss game that my daughter got me for Father Day....with my girls....my wife, daughter and nearly adopted daughter. Hung out with my sons after that and had to have a little chat.

Fathers Day!

My oldest just hugged me and told me "You're the Atticus Finch of fathers! I love you so much!"

I haven't read that book but I hope that's a compliment.

 

Atticus Finch is the father in "To Kill a Mockingbird". Definitely a compliment.

Yesterday was the summer solstice. I don't think I saw that anywhere on here...and why in the world I didn't say it, I have no idea.

So, from now til 12/21 the days will be getting shorter.
