I collect sticks for my fire pit. I always seem to be running a little short and it's silly because I literally have an unending supply....just not at my house. I could have as much wood as the average wood stove user would use in 5 years....delivered to my house by this time next week and instead, I'm always walking around thinking "Oh....I see a small dead branch fell from this tree...I better put that on the kindling pile for the fire pit". :)

I just remembered I was watching t.v. with the kids today and idly marveling to myself how loose my bra straps were when I was seated.

I tightened them up about two inches. No wonder the top of my shoulder was cramping.

    I'm so damn stupid.

A quarter or so of a roofing shingle tends to keep a fire going too...if you don't mind the smell. I don't normally do that but I have a few times when everything was really wet.

Man...we've been getting tons of rain today. It's redeveloping just to the west of us...all night. It's kind of odd to watch on the radar. It's just storm after storm popping up about 50 miles away. There was just a flood warning issued saying a violent flood in imminent in my county.

I actually discovered that my accident. But you can just put in a really small piece that will burn out in about 10 minutes....but by then...you have a hot fire. Just stand upwind for a few minutes.

There are some roads around here that have tiny little dribbles of asphalt patch in them. Once, we saw a truck with a trailer on back and a guy riding it pouring asphalt into all the little cracks they passed over. Now if we see one of those roads we know the "crack fillin' feller" has been there. We always laugh when we say that. I guess you'd have to have been there.

I have no problem climbing or standing on a ladder, even when it bends through a little when it is a very high one. But when you're high on it and have to use both your hands to do whatever you're busy with (cleaning gutters or painting something for example) then it gets bad real soon....!

I Thought It Was Just Me That Felt Like This......

Since I Moved Here I Have Put Up With 2 Smoke Detecters That Went Off For Weeks,

Because I Was Nervous About Climbing A Ladder To 16 feet To Fix Them.....

Then I Bit The Bullet......Bought An Extention Ladder......Climbed It......And Replaced

The Batteries.......Turns Out All The Fear Was In My Head.....And Now

My Home Is Silent Again...... :daisy:

    Cheers Glen.

Haha I know that sound, it is really awful. How you have put up with it for weeks without going literally insane is beyond me! I guess (hope) they weren't in your lving room??

Try that while standing on two different ladders... One of which moves if you change your weight distribution.

When it moves (other than a slight bend through) I get down and adjust how it stands! No way I get any work done on a moving ladder :D
