I put a bumper sticker on my kayak yesterday. It reads "Watch For Motorcycles". I want everyone to be safe on the river!

    What's it doing?

Band practice tonight.....again. But I'm digging it. This whole two-band thing is keeping me pretty busy.

That damn pull start that's been breaking my elbow since I've owned it finally took a shit. There's a spring in there, not the recoil spring, it's supposed to make the pull easier. (or so they say) It's actually a coil spring that's going to absorb compression shock... It and the housing that covers it are totally borked. So is my elbow as a matter of fact...

Stupid design, and it's a Husq part...

take it right off and use a cordless drill on flywheel nut to start it

should be easier on the elbow

    I'll try that....

They should have done a compression release on that motor instead of that shit pull start design.

happens to me lots with lawnmowers

doesnt take much to bend or shear a flywheel key and when you find one thats not right it lets you know by trying to rip an arm off

tecumseh seems to be worse than other for that but in the long run weak flywheel key is better than a bent shaft like happens to most briggs

I think some Husqies are good saws but...I have to admit...we only have one now and that's just because it was basically given to us. I gave up on them years ago. I hate to say that but after dropping around $900-$1000 each for a good number of XP (pro) model saws that only lasted about a year or a little less....that was it for me. There were just design flaws. To be fair...a huge tree trunk did roll over on to one of them. That was on me. Always sacrifice the saw over yourself.

We actually have two. We have a 3120XP that has a 6 foot bar and is only rarely used but even that one has major design issues. No hand brake because the muffler discharges directly on to the stem of the hand brake and melts it...eventually causing it to break off. But it does have a decompression valve. So I'll give them that. That thing has a 9.5 hp engine on it!
