Took my daughter to her league night this evening. She's 12 and tiny.....and a beginner. I didn't see every kid who participates but some of the ones I did see are 16 and fairly experienced. One is the range owners son so I bet he's pretty good. My daughter isn't even phased by that. She seems to just want to do her best and have a fun time. I think it kind of helps that everyone there is so nice to her and so encouraging. They strike me as very amused and impressed that this little girl is there, motivated about what she's doing and doesn't care who she's up against.

She scored 379 out of a possible 500 today. 10 shots each at 5 different distances up to 25 yards. 10 points for a bulls eye. 9 points, 8 points, etc. I think she could have got 400 or more fairly easily except that there was a problem with her lane and the target wouldn't move back to the 25 yd. spot so she had to change lanes. The rest of the lanes are all regular adult lanes which are too tall for her. She uses the handicap accessible lane which is just right for her height.

But again....I am grateful that everyone is so nice to her and also willing to take time to give her pointers. She can be kind of shy sometimes and I think she enjoys her time there and I enjoy the time I spend there with her.

Hmm....here's a thought about my last post. 379 out of 500. Let's round that up to 380 for easy numbers and let's also say that all 10 shots at 25 yds. completely miss the target (which she didn't do). That leaves you 40 shots at 4 different distances and you need to fire 38 bulls eyes to get that score. In any case...not too shabby for a beginner. I want to see what the final scores are for this week. Maybe she did pretty well....even against the older kids.

I'm glad she's enjoying herself, Wiz.

That will build so much confidence for her. It's also good for her to socialize at different places and with different people -

Not to mention the bond building between you two.

    Awesome. :)

    No big plans here, today.

I'll finishing patching some jeans and organize the spice cabinet while the grandson does homework.

    It's raining. That's as exciting as it's going to get...unless I vacuum.

Yesterday, the 20 lb. cat jumped off the top of the medicine cabinet onto my back while I was on the toilet. He only made a little scratch on my back but a nice long one from my wrist to my hand.

I didn't even know the cat was up there.

I've been kind of afraid that the young cat, Willow would do that but he hasn't. What possessed Trouble to do that is beyond me.

the encroaching full moon? I am sorry you got scratched........two of my cats forever jump on me...Minxy is so small and light and I bearly feel her....but she can be a nuisance....jumping onto my key pad if I am typing....or knocking things off the desk that i am working on....Spanky is heavier and he can hurt and has....and Finney never jumps on me.....He is pretty respectful....:p

The moon must be making them crazy. More squabbles are breaking out between them and they definitely crashing things out around the house. Last night they found various reasons to play "Popcorn Kitties" - you know how one of them jumps and they all jump and go tearing off? lol Tonight I may lay them out with some cat nip.

Got my second barn door mostly done this afternoon. Both doors still need the diagonal pieces put on. I'm taking a little break from it. It would be nice if I had more space for this project.

It's raining here. Been raining for most of the afternoon but nothing very heavy. Just a steady gentle rain.

This was our second day of rain. Tomorrow was supposed to be our worst day but I haven't looked at the weather lately.
