apparently two butt cheek storms are meeting and the crack will be passing over us causing major wind

 

All day the weather station said it was raining... It just wasn't raining here. Getting some now though. Supposed to rain until sometime tomorrow night.


Some of this is leftover from that hurricane...

I've decided that I like the doors better without the diagonal pieces so I'm calling them done. Now all I have to do is drill the iron rail to install the stops at both ends, paint the rail and hangers again and then hang it all up. It will only take a few minutes to drill the rail but I'm still thinking about the best way to install them. The kit didn't come with instructions. It was just a bunch of pieces.....the "choose you own adventure" model, I guess.

 

yeah we're supposed to get whats left of that hurricane but its meeting another storm front and supposed to cause a clash

 

Celeste is finally starting to try to talk. She almost has pretty bird and kiss down pat. She has become really full of mischief and I had to stop playing with a Kleenex ball with her this week as she becomes an attack bird if you touch it.

I will give it back to her in a week or so and see if she wants to play well with others. Silly bird.

 

I am registering my property as a farm...official with the government......I will be able to get farm plates for my truck and avoid an etest.....maybe even get a break on insurance....going to order a shitload more stupid hens only this time I'm getting some eating birds.....will also be tearing up half my grass and doing soil amendment all next summer to plant a whole bunch of organic garlic

to register I have to project 7000 dollars revenue in the next 2 years

That's so funny to me because for the last hour I have been watching talking bird videos on youtube.

My nephew's wife wants ancestry info from me for their daughter's college paper. I gave her a link to start with on Ancestry.com but she tells me it won't open for her because she's not a member. I told her that I don't have the info anywhere else and she might want a pay-by-the-month membership.

It's the truth. I don't have it anywhere else but if I did I wouldn't go out of my way to give it to them.

They stopped coming to family gatherings in the late 1990's. They stopped talking to my brother because they took his ex-wife's side in the divorce (the whole family loves my brother's ex-wife). They got mad at my parents for not letting them use their Florida condo. They stopped talking to me because they chose my ex-husband's side in our divorce.

Excuse me? You want to be family now and have me send you info that would require me much work?

Uh - Fuck no.

 

No kiddin! I wouldn't take that crap either.

My family sucks at being a family. We don't have those ^^^^ issues but nobody ever seems to talk to each other....and we have a fairly large family on my dad's side. It isn't that we don't love each other or don't care.....we're just so spread out that we rarely talk. I talk to my brother once every few months and my mom maybe about twice as much. I have aunts and uncles who I talk to every year or two. That sounds shitty....I know. But it isn't just me. It's all of us. I kind of think we're just a family of fairly independent people who are ok with living without the social safety-net that family can provide. I don't think any of us are offended or feel left out.

I'm kind of like that with friends too. My closest friends (and even my own band mates) know to not think much about it if they don't hear from me for a few weeks sometimes. I'm very good at making friends with almost anyone but not always very good at maintaining friendships/relationships. It just doesn't cross my mind to get in touch with people and I don't even know why. I think I talk to you guys more often than many of my real life friends.

 

I don't know what's wrong with my brothers and me. We rarely talk but we're not mad or anything. I think we're busy with our own lives.

 

This whole "sides" thing is just way too weird for me.

Nobody took sides in either of these divorces except these two idiots - that's my nephew and his wife.

There were no sides, you stupid fucking idiots; and you broke my mother's heart staying away with your two children.

Assholes.

 

i'm perfectly fine with not being anyone i would expect anyone else to be really able to relate to.
for which reason i never entirely believe anyone's claim to.
which is also fine. they're still welcome to hug me anyway.
or not if they wish. or anything else if its not too painful or destructive.
just as long as its quiet, and not most of the time.

yah, i don't know anything about family. some of my mom's relatives came out to visit us once or twice in my lifetime.
i don't think my dad ever wanted any of his to meet us, and none of them ever did. me anyway.

i never had strong feelings about my parents either way. i was glad for food and shelter, but mostly i think i just never found humans all that interesting.
so what am i doing here? mostly a kind of nostelgia for peace and hope and the dream of a world moving toward that direction.

i'm really interested in what creative things we could be doing with our world if our social focus as a species didn't keep us destroying it.

 

I don't know. Shit just happens. I was thinking about working on my doors today rather than talking to anyone so that's what I did. My brother does kind of piss me off though but that's a different deal by itself.

 

Maybe it's because we all worked for my dad and saw each other 5 days a week for years. Mom always hated that because she was a home and the family only gathered 5 times a year.

I stayed close. I was at their house all the time until they both were gone.

 

i wouldn't know what it would be like to have brothers or sisters.
i'm glad though to have been able to grow up without having ever to be that much or often around anyone.

i've never meant to hurt anyone's feelings about it,
but i just always have been happier being alone,
whenever its been physically possible for me to live that way.

maybe, just maybe, its not THAT unusual for at least some other people to be something like the same way?

 

I don't think it's unusual, Themnax. I know lots of people who prefer being alone. I still love my alone time.

People come with different likes, wants, and needs. I think that's cool.

 

I love being alone. It's my favorite place to be. My brother and I were pretty close growing up but we aren't in that place anymore and we aren't the same people. I still love him but it isn't the same relationship as when we where kids. But....back then....we really felt like we were the only two guys on the same team and we had each others back.

Edit.....now it's just different because we're different people....I suppose.

 

What is it with all the noobs on the forum that have to answer all the posts in any given section? Seems to be rampant these last few days. Anybody check IP addresses to see if it's all the same person?
