It can be amazing what kennel rest can do to help. Being a large dog especially one with high energy it will make a difference in healing for the poor thing.

I will keep my fingers crossed that it helps!! :)

i think that dead engine is reviveable

after treating the rod end journal with muriatic acid to remove the aluminum mess the journal looks just fine...should be able to polish it up and install a new rod to get it back into service

the price of crankshaft makes it scrap if needed but just buying a connecting rod is not so bad

I am toast....nearly finished putting typar around my entire coop...although the stuff I used is actually ''blue wrap''.....it is better because it is for foundation ...I grabbed some veneered panels on sale in the bargain bin at the woodstore......for the outside of it.......

I have some very spoiled birds.....tomorrow I am wiring an outlet inside that I can control from the house for the heat lamp and the daytime lights.....also need to figure out where to put the water inside the coop so it doesn't freeze every night

I gave out treats to the kids this evening (there were a lot of kids tonight) and then had a pretty awesome little business powwow until just a bit ago. I learned some things I didn't know and got some great insight on the direction I'm moving. Probably a totally nerdy thing to discuss until after midnight on a Saturday night but at least we had good beer.

I forgot how much you enjoy Halloween.....I just made a trip to divorcees to let her boxer out for a whiz....i'm not sure if he even pee'd but if he needed to he would have, right?.....he seemed a bit sucky about being outside in the middle of the night.....I know divorcee goes to bed early so he might not get out in the dark much

I also forgot to look and see if she left any candy unattended :)

Jane, the female peacock that lost her mate last week, got a taste of freedom. I'm letting her run with the free-range chickens now. So sad. She'll chase a bug and then stop and call for Jessie... and then run back to the coop to see if he's there.

I keep telling her that it's okay.... you're single now! Hit the bars. Go dancing. So far, she is unimpressed. I mean it's not like he left her for another peacock. He died of old age.

Perhaps peacocks need more than a week to grieve.

Aye, they do Spectacles. I was trying to make light of it because her cries are so heartbreaking. I don't know if peacocks mate for life or not. I'll probably see if I can find someone local with a flock she can join.
