Hilarious thing that happened today.....this probably won't do the moment justice but....

I often meet some of my friends at our local brewery (think Cheers) on Sunday afternoons. It closes at 5 on Sundays. I got there at about 3:45 and had a couple with the guys. It was mostly just our crowd but business picked up a bit on growler fills at about 4:45. My friend John owns the place and was obviously wrapping up and getting ready to lock the doors (which doesn't mean we have to leave....just that nobody else is coming in). Another friend of mine whispered to me "Hey...what time does your phone say?" I knew what to expect right away. I checked my phone....same as his....3:45. John didn't reset the clock on the wall (and my own wall clock at home was off too). I said "Hey John....you want to see something that might bum you out?" and I held up my phone. His reaction was freaking priceless. He was like "Are you fucking kidding me?" I said "Nope. I'll have another IPA!" and the rest of our group chimed in with orders as well. :)

It really wasn't a big deal since we could have stayed after hours anyway but it was pretty damn funny if you were there.

I have a funeral to attend this afternoon. Not the nicest social activity to attend but one that seems to be happening more and more in life.

When did I get this old?

It is lovely outside today. The misty dreary rain of the last few days wandered off. Thank goodness. I still have sweet potatoes to dig up. Every time I think I'll get that done 'tomorrow', the weather begs to differ.

This is the very last of this year's harvest, the sweet potatoes. The rest of the work on the farm is mostly shoveling manure and trace elements into the garden soil so it can cook all winter long. (Lazy way to compost)

Gotta get the worm farms going again. I've neglected them. Need to split some wood. And I'll be ready for winter.

Today, though... I have to take the new puppy to the vet for more of her puppy shots.. and then to Sonic for a hotdog treat for her. Icky shots deserve a treat, don't ya think?

Going to power wash our new building and our parking lot prior to a paint job and the re-surfacing of the parking area. Gonna' have meat to move the ladder for me.

Cloudy and cold today, but must forge on.

STILL looking for people that CAN work and WILL.

I don't really work that hard these days. But I can power wash my tail off. I mostly deliver stuff (stuff =technical term for roofing material) to the boys and their workers.

I truly wish I could rip and tear off with the boys---they're lots of fun to work with. Father time and mother nature have done colluded agin' me. Spent QUALITY time in Hawaii---maybe----------

Yikes, Spiff. Hey... you live in the land of the free.... for herbage. Medical herbage! Puff Puff... all better.

I used to have this traction contraption that had straps for under my chin and then a pulley system with a counter weight that I hung in a doorway. It stretched my neck out. Felt great.

Of course, it looked like I'd signed up for the Rocky Horror Bondage tour. Wish I still had those leather chaps... (just kidding.. maybe) :)

I have one of those hanging systems.

Years ago when I first got it, I thought it felt great.

Last time I tried to use it, it was uncomfortable, almost painful.

I think I find it harder when it is my own age group or younger. Today was a friend of the family and all of us kids grew up together so to see her gone and only a few years between all of us is a wake up call. Silly but how it feels.

The weather here is simply beautiful right now and it is going to be for the next few days. Nice way to bring in the month. Tomorrow I am going to give my car a good cleaning inside as it will be the last mild days for a while, like 5 months probably. :)

It's warm and yucky here. The weather says we won't see the sun until Friday the 13th.

Mowed the front yard, errrr. Okay I moved leaves around with the mower in the upper front yard, under the trees. The leaves went into one of the cleared areas as mulch. Upper line they went into the trees... West side has a great coating of pine needles where I cleared out the brush. Yard looks okay.

Mowed the other section on the west side to get the grasses down... Trying to establish a low/no maintenance perennial grassy area here.

I think poor Piper has a little fever. She feels warm. She's taking tramadol and an anti-inflamatory so that's all I can do about it.

I'm just glad that she sleeps alot.

    It's pretty pitiful.

Either way, with surgery or without, this is going to be a long ordeal.

That looks exactly like my mower and I had already planned on trying this year to mow over the leaves rather than rake. Or not have to rake as much.
